Going back to 2016.
Even though Romo probably would have crumbled on the next sack he took, a part of me will always wonder what would have happened if Romo had been given a chance to gain his starting job back during the second half of the 2016 season.
Not saying that there was a chance in hell of that ever happening, but I do believe that if Romo had gotten the opportunity and if he could somehow have stayed healthy for the rest of the season, I do somehow believe he would have taken the Cowboys to the SB.
Something about that one series drive he had against the Eagles that made it look too easy. He looked like he was playing golf.
Knowing now that Dak was going to become just an above average QB, any regrets for not giving Romo one last shot?
So Dak is just average correct??? Okay.
Its amazing that Dak only get 5 seasons to grow, but he's compared against veterans with ten plus years. Romo was a damn good quarterback, but he had a chance to grow. You call Dak average, but Dak came out of college, took Romo's spot, and sent him into retirement.
Romo didn't even get drafted out of college... Dak got drafted in the 4th round, but he got drafted. How many big games did Romo choke away??? Has Dak choked away the same amount of games that Romo did??? No...
Now if Dak is so average, why is he ranked 10th or 11th in the NFL currently?? There's 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL so if he's ranked around 10th, the numbers don't add up to being average.
Dak is only one of 5 quarterbacks in NFL history to put up the numbers he has in his first 5 years. There have been thousands of quarterbacks to have played in the NFL over the last 100 years... only 5 have put up certain stats that no other quarterbacks were able to do.
So if Dak is average, why has he been able to do things thousands of other quarterbacks WEREN'T able to do and only four other qbs have. Dak and Wilson are the only two in modern history. How is it being average can carry him to such a rare benchmark??
