The easy answer for that is have the Cowboys release him. Stay tuned for that. I wonder if he will participate in OTAs, that will tell you were Jerrah stands.
Do the Cowboys eat his salary if they release him? Are they off the hook if the league cans him instead, meaning they have more money toward the cap?

If he's released because of conduct detrimental to the team and the league then no they are not on the hook.

You know who I want to talk to is KJ's full time videographer. If that guy was filming during this whole thing and it shows KJ being shocked or trying to stop them then I would agree with everything you said. If KJ was caught off guard and didn't know his friends had guns or were capable of open firing in the streets then I see your point he could have been scared. If there is footage of everything prior to the fight and then after the fight and the footage in question is deleted then I'd be more inclined to believe he's hiding something. If there is footage of them partying after the shooting then I'm not giving KJ the benefit of the doubt. The videographer is key to this and he works for KJ. Hopefully he filmed things that shows KJ had no idea what was happening or was coerced by his friends. That would be best case scenario. If there's a time stamp that shows footage was deleted then I'm skeptical.
Agreed but I bet that film was destroyed that night. The videographer is going to say he stopped filming when he left the club. But you never know, Joseph has already snitch so maybe he gave the police the video as well.

Can't get more detrimental unless he's more involved. And now he has to worry about what the others tell the cops about what he knew. I'd bet the farm he was not an innocent bystander.
Yeah I'm putting my money on he wasn't an innocent bystander. If he was then why didn't he go to the police a month ago? If the answer to that question is well his friends were involved. Then my next question is why did he talk to the police now? If he's an innocent bystander then talking to the police a month ago and talking to the police yesterday is of no consequence since he's innocent.

I hope this is the last problem player we draft, let alone in the second round.

I don't understand the appeal but it needs to end. If he was anything other than a second round pick I would release him if I'm Jerry but I'm tired of losing second rounders and he has a lot of promise.

Jerry will probably pay his salary. The one thing about the Joneses I respect is their not Richards to their players. I heard Quincy Carter was recently in the building. The Cowboys take care of their own.

Didn't he continue to party with them after the shooting?
I don't know. If there was proof that he was partying after the shooting then that would be pretty damning evidence, especially in a civil case. It would raise eyebrows if there was missing footage or footage of them in another club after 2:00 AM.

He can pay him unofficially, I don't care about that. I'm just hoping his departure doesn't hamstring the team by needing a CB, but having no cap space with which to acquire one.

Exactly, Jerry needs to draft solid healthy players in round 1-3. Take the gambles on later round picks.
