Romo not great. Very good, made the team watchable, but not great.

You have no clue then. His best team was 07 and in 14. Never had an oline his entire career till 14 and injuries in 15 and 16 did him in. I still say if he came back in 16 and took back the QB position that was rightfully his we beat the Packers and who knows what else could have taken place that year. He was pushed out the door for a complete fraud that we now must all suffer with. The game was never out of hand as long as he was out there.

Troy went 1-15, 7-9, and worst towards the end of his career when he was not surrounded by good players. I don't think Troy could have done as well as Tony with the talent Tony had to play with for most of his career. If you flip QBs and their surrounding talent I bet Tony has a much more polished career than Troy. Troy's teams were filled with elite talent that the NFL has not seen since.

They had to work that spin move into the playbook. Why draft linemen when you’re making brilliant moves like Felix Jones, Roy Williams, the special teams draft, etc etc?? I could see how protecting the QB would take a backseat to such quality decision making through the height of his QBs career!

Biggie, it's all showbiz to Booger. Romo was the follow up to Favre in fun to watch and he was a main NFL attraction and the most polarized and discussed QB of his time.

Booger loved all that Cabo stuff and him dating celebrities.

The one thing I have never understood is how anyone that loves football and sports could not love the Romo story.

Plays at Eastern Illinois and is not only not even a footnote in the list of QB's entering the draft, he is invited to the Combine......to work out the TE's. Not even the WR's. Hell, the only QB that was less respected was asked to hand off to the FB's.

The only two interested in him are ex QB's from his school and he's an UDFA, they don't even have enough shine on him to spend a 7th rounder?

And Mike Shanahan was a HC at the time, he could get what he wanted. Know how many draft picks DEN had in that 2003 draft? 10 and Shanahan was the Exec VP of Operations as well as the HC. And he wouldn't even spend his 10th pick on Romo? Just how deep was the belief in the gunslinger?

You might not be happy with the results and you might be a little too hung up on the ancillary parts of his career but name me one player in the history of the Cowboys that was a better story than Tony Romo. Isn't he the type of guy we all pull for, want to see him defy the odds so stacked against him?

Know who he was? He was us, who we'd like to be. He's that player that just won't quit and even if he was the only one that believed in himself, he believed all the way. There are not many stories about QB's like Romo and Warner but those are the stories that keep me attached to this game.

I know some want the pedigree guy because they think this is the Cowboys, they don't fish on the bottom. Aikman, #1 pick, yeah, that's the ticket. But an UDFA and a 4th rounder are the last two QB's of your team. Some find that hard to take.

Troy was terrible in the beginning and awful at the end. He was good when he had the best roster, running game, and defense in the NFL, but not before or after. Troy did a terrific job as a facilitator of the offense, and he had a terrific arm with short and intermediate throws, but he was immobile and uncreative, and struggled with deep throws.

Tony had to outscore everybody to overcome the worst scoring defenses in NFL history in Dallas, and he rarely had a complete offense. In the end, he finally had an offensive line, but his body couldn't hold up anymore. He still played great when his body would allow him.

Put your pom-poms down and watch objectively.

Tony would have won 4 or 5 Super Bowls with those early 90s teams. Dak could have even won a couple. They were that good.

He was great when it was a regular or nothing game but as the pressure mounted he couldnt process it. All the bad performances when it counted wasnt a coincidence -name one big game Romo ever won. Some players (Reggie Jackson) thrive on it. Others (Romo) shut down. I dont think he would have won those SB much less get that far in the playoffs even with Jimmy. I would take Aikman 100 times out of 100 over Romo in a big game. Again I'm not a homer and Romo was a good qb but not great and never won when he had to.

I have ZERO doubt....Tony made players around him better. Very amazing considering the fact that he was never considered elite, let alone drafted. I don't understand why "fans" hate him so.

The NFL has been around for 100 years and there have been thousands of quarterbacks to have come through the league... so if Dak is horrible, why was he only 1 of 5 other quarterbacks in history to have put up the numbers he's put up??? If he's horrible, why does he have arguably the best winning percentages for Quarterbacks who've been in the league for 5 or 6 years???

How is it that more "horrible" quarterbacks in 100 years haven't been able to put up numbers and win as much as Dak? If Dak is horrible, how is it possible that he's ranked in the top 10 out of 31 other starting quarterbacks???

I believe you're pretty intelligent so here's your chance to prove you're not just a "Dak hating coward" who spits out baseless BS but have zero proof to back up weak accusations. Here's your chance to help us all understand how a quarterback like Dak can be horrible.... but do something only 4 or 5 other quarterbacks were able to do in 100 years, and explain how this horrible quarterback can have one of the best career winning percentages thus far.

again I'm not an Aikman groupie but he's so much better than Romo that I cant believe we're even having this discussion. Name 1 (just 1) big game Romo won in his whole career. Aikman was 11-4 in the playoffs with 3 sb wins.
