No, I said "It seems to me that someone close to the Cowboys organization recognized Joseph and called the team." In fact, I didn't even have to type most of that sentence just now, because my phone auto filled everything after "seems". I never stated or implied that anyone in particular told the team. I made it very clear that was my guess.

What report makes it seem that as opposed to anyone else who saw the broadcast on TV?

I just don't understand how you get "someone close to the Cowboys" particularly given the Cowboys say they knew already.

It's curious how the DA goes from having a class A failure to report held over his head to giving him a pass for murder.
The DA is only worried about the killers. Failure to report is nothing compared to getting the shooters. That is the dirty deal they make with Joseph.

Am I the only person who can see the appeal of Nietzsche to a Stern fan? Long-winded diatribes about how stupid everyone else is?

I'm extrapolating from the fact that soon after the video was aired, KJ went to the police. According to the story I linked, the team advised KJ to do so. It's more likely that someone familiar with the team would have recognized KJ from such a grainy video, than it is that someone who isn't familiar with the team would recognize him. I surmise that someone close to the team did recognize him and informed the Cowboys.
Did you see something that stated they knew about it before the video was aired?

I think we all agree we feel slimy about the situation but the reality is in these situations the cops make deals. Police work is a dirty business. Without Joseph they have nothing.

Truth be told, if they didn't have any testimony, no bullets and no gun, they'd likely have no case. Murder cases are won or lost based on "reasonable doubt." KJ was in the car along with other suspects but could the prosecution argue he pulled the trigger if neither KJ or the other passengers talked?

Legally speaking, just because he was in the car from which the fatal shots were fired that doesn't constitute "beyond reasonable doubt."

Then how many of the jurors are Cowboys fans?

Be that as it may, sometimes (often) "criminals" are not smart. No snitch, no case. I'm going to guess that the gun that fired the fatal shots was stolen.

And none of that is a felony conviction. The Dallas DA knows all that and isn't charging him. You want to punish him anyway?

And police are only suspended like that when they are charged. All of that is hashed out in LEOBOR laws. They are not suspended just because they become a person of interest in an investigation. That is also hashed out in LEOBOR law.

And he told the Cowboys. They said in their press release they had been encouraging him to come forward.

I’m not trying to convict him. I’m saying holding him to what should be a player code of conduct.

I've already given the link to one, and that was just a quick Google search. I don't think that's even the one I read soon after this story broke

I don't see anything about who informed the Cowboys or when. How do you know it was not Joseph or someone outside of the organization or anyone else that we have not considered?

How do you know it was done at any time? What makes it 'seem' like ay of that?

There was a press announcement where they said they didn’t know about the incident and after speaking to Joseph he surrenders to the police for questioning.

You only read what you want to read, don't you? Did I not recently, in two separate posts, reiterate that it's my opinion that it was someone close to the organization? BTW, one can be "outside of the organization" and still be "close to the organization", such as the son or daughter of one of the coaches or players, or any number of other people who know people within the Cowboys organization, without being part of it.

What makes it "seem" like that is the timing of the events as I've seen them reported. Things played out (from what we've been told) in a manner consistent with my theory. Does that mean that's how it happened? No, of course not. It just means that's what makes the most sense to me at this point in time.

"Didn't know"? Did the announcement state when they found out and who told them?

No wonder he went crazy. Apparently belief in an objective good was alien to him.

He had syphilis.

He most certainly doesn't but that wasn't his point. His point is that in your 'objective good' you are ignoring reality. Nothing is going to happen and your moral 'win' has no real effect.

He is saying the better way is to instead say this is what I want and this is how I am going to get it. That is his whole will to power thing.

This is the teams official statement:

The Dallas Cowboys are aware of the tragic incident that occurred in Dallas on March 18. First and foremost, our hearts go out to Mr. Ray's family and loved ones. The organization is aware of Kelvin Joseph's possible connection to this incident. We are in contact with Dallas law enforcement and have alerted the NFL office. We have no further comment at this time.

Nothing of the kind is in there.

Stop reading just the parts you want to see And I'm getting kinda worried have you guys eaten in the last few days?

Perhaps you should read the whole thread then? I don't blame you

Yesterday, he made a claim about what it seemed like the Cowboys statements infered. My point is there is nothing to make it seem like that given they only made one statement.

I'm not going to wait around another day for him to admit that there is nothing to make it seem like that. The writing is on the wall and I have better things to do.

:hammer:Fans don’t even realize that all they really could have done was threaten Joseph and turn it into a Ray Lewis situation. I bet Joseph is the only witness that will testify if this makes it to trial.Truth be told on most murders the police know who the killer is. They just need evidence to prove it in court.
