Carr and Prescott are very similar IMO.

Swap them out and the needle doesn't move much for either team.

I think that has been a fair assessment .... but last year Carr seemed to take his game a step further in terms of playmaking & consistency. I'm not necessarily saying I would put him on the first list but I would have to put him at the top of the second list with an eye toward moving him up if he continues to show that level of play.

I respect your opinion, but it's literally a useless take that cannot be measured or compared. It's not one on one. You know what makes a QB consistent? A consistent team, well, because it's a team sport.
Dan's takes have flip-flopped over the years so much I'm really surprised more haven't caught on. And we won't get into his biased approach.

And I respect yours. I am certainly not defending Dan O, just that I can't criticize these particular lists.

He has far too many guys in that first group to the point he loses his credibility. Watson is coming off of a 4 win season, Stafford did nothing most of his career, Derek Carr has won nothing, Burrow did not carry the Bengals, Herbert hasn’t even been to a playoff…Russell has done nothing since losing the Legion of Boom.

The list starts and ends with Mahomes, Rodgers and Brady.

Just a lame attempt at calling Dak our. It’s not even the NFL season yet it’s like nobody takes breaks from this….just let it go.

Watson, Derek Carr and Lamar Jackson are on the wrong list.

If you consider the first list as "winning regular season games", then remove names to get to "win playoff games & SB's", it's just another way to get to the tiers we talk about. And why on any given week a player feels like they might belong in a tier above of below.

I think Burrow and Allen both are right there on the cusp of being tier 1 level QBs.

From an ability standpoint, I think both clearly already are.

I put Allen in there both on ability & proven on the field.

I can understand not putting Burrow in there yet ..... but man o man, if he continues to get better (which he should), what is his ceiling? (We were talking about this very thing at lunch today.)

May I ask who did carry the Bengals?

Herbert - no but are you saying the talent doesn't leap off the screen?

Russ - Cmon, he singlehandedly has kept that team relevant. Unless physical decline has caught up with him, I fully expect Denver to illustrate the difference between "a QB" & "a tier 1 QB" this season.

This was the same guy who said Blake Jarwin was the key to the Cowboys' running game. Why anyone pays any attention to that clown is a complete mystery to me.
because it suits their narrative from time to time

And people want more expansion teams. Lunacy.
It doesn’t really matter . There’s always only going to be a small segment of Elite QB’s. Adding a couple more teams won’t change it.

If I owned a team I’d probably draft one every year until I hit and then start up again after his Rookie contract was up.

Even if you had one and then hit on another the trade capital you’d have would bring many additional picks.

Jimmy had the right idea. He used two 1st round picks on a QB in same draft.

Dan is a Twitter tool.
I don’t even know who he is. But then I stay away from most national media except for broadcast, highlights and scores. Don’t tweet or follow it either. And don’t do tic tock. Lol

I agree, which is why Rodgers only has 1 SB back in 2010 and as good as Brees was he had 1.

Exactly.. you would think these guys would get bored of these same old tired canards about "QBs winning and losing games." But I guess it's a fairly effective means of trolling the group so as long as it continues to work they'll continue to use them.
