I can't help but to be in wonder, if poor Jerry is nearly as close to a Super Bowl appearance as he thinks he is . . .
Bless his heart -- I suppose even the most foolishly inclined of us have their personally ill-conceived fantasies . . .:muttley:
Something tells me that Mr. Jones has mistakenly taken Stephen's "secret sauce" formula much too seriously . . .

It's all part of Jerry. He just claimed we are basically real close to contending. We really aren't.

But the reason why he said what he said is Jerry believes he consistently does a good job as GM and that forces outside his control have let him down over the last 25 years. The single biggest reason this franchise is on one of the historically worst postseason runs in NFL history is because of Jerry. It's that simple.

But he thinks otherwise, which is why he says things like he just said above.
Why waste your time trying to justify yourself to that know-it-all moron? The dude thinks his opinions are the only ones that matter and talks down to anyone who disagrees with him.

Please quote the part where Jerry says he is doing a good job? You imagined it.

It's implied every single time he brags about how good the roster is and how close we are to contending. Every August he's defiant when it comes to questions about the roster. Why? Because he continually thinks he's doing a really good job at roster building.

The absolute worst thing he has ever said was that he does NOT think about his mistakes. He only thinks about his successes. No wonder the guy never seems to learn from his mistakes. What a fool.

A very, very bad habit for a GM who has his job for life with zero accountability for mistakes. Sounds like Lady Luck having mercy on us is our only hope.

Somebody needs to tell Jerry that close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades! o_O

He seems to be under the impression that coming close to a SB scores Brownie points.

We have to overcome our management in order to have any chance....

All because of one man's ridiculously childish behavior and ego. Poster boy for narcissism.

And people around here actually give me a hard time for resenting the guy.

He can have plenty of success and notoriety by just being an owner and getting out of the way, but nope, not good enough for him.

I actually don't care that Jerry doesn't focus on his own mistakes, because he doesn't have the first clue what they really are.

They go WAY beyond things like busted draft picks.

Bengals have blown every QB pick for 30 years. They finally nail one out of luck and all of a sudden they are doing something right? Laughable.
Jerry has blown QB picks for 2 decades as well.

Dak was sheer luck as they tried to trade up for Paxton Lynch, then Connor Cook, then they took Dak.

Only difference is. Again. Cincinnati has been to the dance where the Cowboys have not. That is all I am trying to say.

Also helps when the media is scared to ask the hard questions.

I see someone hasn't been monitoring Jerry's visit to the wet bar at the office.
