Yes, but it doesn't mean it's the morally correct thing to do. Money talks for the NFL, everything else walks. Yet, Badell did not feel that way towards Zeke and a few other players.

The NFL is crooked to the core. Period. No disputing that. We all see it. No reason to defend this crookedly ran NFL unless one approves of how crooked it is.
All true. NFL doesn't give two crapps about morals or what is right.

Sorry, my good man, but that's a very strange viewpoint. There are many many things that are not OK to do that are not against the law, or if they are, very minor infractions. Different crimes have different degrees of punishment.
Not strange, you think the punishment is fitting in this instance? You think if no criminal charges there should be no punishment? I find that a strange view.

The right thing for the NFL is what makes them the most money. Once you realize that's the overriding factor here, the case becomes much easier to analyze.
Actually, what you say is the wrong way, somethings transcend money this is one of them.

It's the opposite, dude. The truth appears to be too deep for you.

BTW, your little insult was completely unnecessary.
His is ok but mine isn't, wasn't directed at you so it's between us, hope that is succinct enough for you.

RIP to Nichelle Nichols, the actress who portrayed Lieutenant Nyota Uhura in the tv series and movies.
She passed away this past Saturday at age 89.
Wow, very sad. Sucks how everyone we grew up watching are passing away. May she rest in peace.

You said society as a whole is responsible for addressing the problem. The legislature is a part of society just like businesses are a part of society.
And are you saying because we have structured violence in sport, the NFL should withdraw from advocating that its employees distinguish the difference between its version and structured violence and "senseless" violence?

Besides, people in the legislature come from varied backgrounds. People in societies in general come from varied backgrounds. Some come from homes where they witness abuse; some came from loving homes. Some had a single parent, some two parents.

Moreover, businesses have to be aware of their "publics." It's a factor in doing business in a capitalistic system. You promote something or don't promote something your publics/customers want/don't want, your business suffers. The NFL is concerned about its image. We don't live in the days when players could beat their wives, and the public doesn't get concerned about it.

And then there's corporate responsibility that says we have a responsibility to society to embrace what is right for society regardless of how it impacts our bottom dollar.

Again, to whom much is given, much is required. That's no joke. It's just holding people who solicit our business accountable for the values they say they stand for, for the good of society.
The leagues discipline policy dealt with it. He was given 6 games and he loses 345k...more than I make in 3 years. His "punishment," is more severe than 99% of Americans would have received, including you and myself

It didn't matter what punishment was handed out, a large chunk of society that knows next to nothing about the process they just went through, was not going to be happy.

The fact the nfl dealt more severely with his axons than the court is not good enough for you.

I think you are sadly mistaken on the public. Mike Vick is as disgusting as they come imo. Not only did the nfl let him play again, fox employs him to announce games....

If OJ Simpson was 23 right now, half the league would be lining up to sign him.

All that talk of how the league is losing fans. Remember about 2 years ago? Lol...well wait for their new tc contract and let's see if that is true.

Quit being ignorant. YOU SUPPORT ONLY A 6 GAME SUSPENSION BECAUSE YOU CLEARLY APPROVE OF ONLY A 6 GAME SUSPENSION.

Sheesh. Man up already.
I've clearly stated that I support and why I support this decision Johnny come lately, and it had zip to do with my comments you quoted. I already "manned up," you justv weren't paying attention

no, it means that I can accept what the actual CRMINAL JUSTICE system says vs a bunch of emotional people that bring their own views and experiences into things.
What you or anyone else don't understand is that it's perfectly fine for people to NOT like the system. They don't have to. No matter how much knowledge you share. They don't have to accept anything.

So the NFL IS responsible for addressing the problem. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

It didn't matter what punishment was handed out, a large chunk of society that knows next to nothing about the process they just went through, was not going to be happy.

This wasn't my point. You cleared it up when you acknowledged that, as a member of society, the NFL does bear some responsibility in addressing the issue, i.e., through its disciplinary policy.

The fact the nfl dealt more severely with his axons than the court is not good enough for you.

I think you are sadly mistaken on the public. Mike Vick is as disgusting as they come imo. Not only did the nfl let him play again, fox employs him to announce games....
What does this have to do with anything? Much of the public STILL hasn't forgiven Michael Vick.

If OJ Simpson was 23 right now, half the league would be lining up to sign him.
Hypotheticals can't be proven so I don't address them.

All that talk of how the league is losing fans. Remember about 2 years ago? Lol...well wait for their new tc contract and let's see if that is true.
All I said is that the league also has a responsibility to its publics as a member of society. In this and similar cases, the league has responded to the public's concern about domestic, physical and sexual abuse by its employees by adopting policy to punish its employees engage in such behavior.
Whether it should be more strict is a matter of debate.
But with respect to what I asked you, I believe the NFL does have a responsibility, and it appears you agree.
I'm fine with that.
