So the NFL IS responsible for addressing the problem. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

This wasn't my point. You cleared it up when you acknowledged that, as a member of society, the NFL does bear some responsibility in addressing the issue, i.e., through its disciplinary policy.

What does this have to do with anything? Much of the public STILL hasn't forgiven Michael Vick.

Hypotheticals can't be proven so I don't address them.

All I said is that the league also has a responsibility to its publics as a member of society. In this and similar cases, the league has responded to the public's concern about domestic, physical and sexual abuse by its employees by adopting policy to punish its employees engage in such behavior.
Whether it should be more strict is a matter of debate.
But with respect to what I asked you, I believe the NFL does have a responsibility, and it appears you agree.
I'm fine with that.
Ding dinf sing ding......one line in your post can sum up this entire thread...."Whether it should be more strict is a matter of debate."

That's why I said previously had Watson been suspended the entire season, id have been done with that. Had he been given 2 hands, id have been done with that. Why? Because they went through the process that both sides agreed to and the result is what the result is.i can accept whatever the arbitrator says. Many that haven't read much in regards to the actual CBA can not.... unless it lines up with what THEY think the punishment should be.

Wow, very sad. Sucks how everyone we grew up watching are passing away. May she rest in peace.
Add to that list - Paul Sorvino. The man probably was only a leading actor in what- a dozen films or less - if I'm wrong please feel free to correct me.
But every movie I've seen him in...he has a major role / substantial character in the film plot.

I like words. :D

When you mean "Id have been done with that" do you mean "you would have been okay with that"?

Not strange, you think the punishment is fitting in this instance? You think if no criminal charges there should be no punishment? I find that a strange view.

The league doesn't do anything on a moral basis, they act in the best interest of their product. The league could just allow the individual teams to handle suspensions for their employees. The reason they don't is because Watson would have got no suspension. Too much of that happening and the league might start to lose money. They care about their product losing or making money, nothing else.

The only other suspension similar to Watson's that I can think of is the Jameis Winston case. He got 3 games for touching an Uber driver.

What do you mean by "cheat"?

PS: Yet, you keep on following, watching and supporting his business and product.
He means infidelity.
Jerry can cheat till the cows come home and I will still watch my favorite team.
I don't care what he does. He might own my favorite team, but he is not my favorite team.
I want to watch my team play and it's not because of the owner.

I know you weren't directing this reply to me, but I replied anyway.

Otherwise we cool. I think you're a good guy and I'd hang out with you and watch a game.

The problem with Zeke is he had consensual relations with a psycho hanger on. If he had just shown his junk to some strangers, he could have kept playing. :muttley:

How do suspensions work?

if he was cleared of all charges why is he suspended?

what is personal conduct by NFL standards? im not saying Watson is guilty or not guilty but it seems people can say whatever about you and get you caught up and even if cleared you face suspension because of personal conduct

but how is it personal conduct if you were cleared?

I think it just means you bring a lot of negative press to the league, different levels to it. I honestly think the Texans should be investigated for some type of corruption. I think it's funny how these women came out after Watson decided he no longer wanted to play for their franchise, and from the investigations Houston knew about him hiring the massage therapists.

Yeah, when this first broke a lot of people suspected Houston had something to do with it.
