But the NFL only brought up 5 complaints. My question was why not the rest? Out of almost 30 women why did they cherry pick 5?
Good question. We haven’t been provided all of the details as such. Possibly all of the women didn’t want to cooperate? And maybe these women complaints were similar.

no…..it proves that the public outcry for abuses against a protected class know as “women”, FORCED them to file this…….if he mere assaulted someone outside the protected class they wouldn’t have appealed it whatsoever

I mean if he sexually abused men there would also be an outcry but then again men are also a protected class so it would track if you think people only get mad if people of a protected class are abused.

well Persecutors don't always bring up every case, they choose the ones that they think they can win.

Don't see how this isn't setting a bad precedent. You hire an arbitrator who is instructed to follow your own rules, and then appeal the decision? Why, she followed the letter of the law that the NFL set out?

because Deshaun Watson is an outlier a thing they probably didn't account for. He engaged in a level sexual predation that is probably not going to be seen for a while. If players in the future are accused it will probably be like 1 or 2 instances not like over 20 lol. It just makes the NFL look bad that their policy can only give someone like Deshaun Watson a slap on the wrist.

Or not credible? Could they use the rest in a different punishment?

Not Goodell, the other owners punished Jerry and Snyder because they thought they were bigger than the league. Slap.
100%. That's my answer to why I feel there's a bias against the Cowboys. That was allowed to happen. Sucks

I think the league is attempting to avoid further punishment. And why they want the 1 year indefinite which should allow enough time for this one trial next year. Just in case more damaging evidence comes out. If it doesn’t then I could see Watson being reinstated in 2023.

That’s not bias. Jethro and Snyder needed their hand slap.

Jethro has on more than one occasion attempted to undermine the league. What suks is an owner who thinks he’s bigger than the league. It places our franchise in a more compromising position with potentially harsher decisions.

I suspect the league doesn’t want him to play until the trial scheduled in the spring . Just in case more damaging evidence surfaces.

And why the one year indefinite suspension is being sought where he has to be reinstated. The worse case scenario for the league would be to allow him to play while trial is still out there .

If Watson could have settled this last case perhaps the league would be prepared to move on but the risk is too vulnerable for them in this upcoming trial.
He has to settle one more case. It will get settled probably by the end of the week.

Pretty sure Ray Rice could've played if someone would've signed him.

had Rice been 24, he would have be signed. He could have played... but much like Kaep. he wasnt worth the headache that would have come with him... he was already on the downside.

Yep. Not sure why all fans don’t recognize he simply represents the majority of the owners doing the dirty work they don’t want to do in order to protect the shield.
thinking that the commisioner of the 3 major sports leagues has no power is very naive. They dont pay him 30 plus million per year and not give him power....... he has tons of power.

What’s the point?
the point was when the arbitrator dished out that suspension you were so against you disappeared. Today the commissioner with no power made it very clear he is going to give you the outcome you wanted and you suddenly are back! I just found that amusing.

The league has ample resources to burn in order to protect the shield. And Goodell is acting in the leagues interest. He’s a very expensive Buffer representing the owners to take the heat off of them.
how does anything they do actually protect anything. A player that will be playing again did what he did.
Ray Rice did what he did.
Mike Vick did what he did.
Oj Did whatever he did...... and the NFL train keeps heading on down the track.

Go back to the 90s when the Cowboys had players getting away with all sorts of stuff. Did it hurt their popularity any?

The Miami Hurricanes were the most thuggish team in ncaa history... didnt hurt them much in the public eye.

The public is a bunch of hypocrites. They want these guys banned for their behavior.... until the guy is on their team. You see Watson getting booed off the practice field yet? Neither have I.

The judge ruled that Watson violated the NFL’s personal conduct policy in three separate ways. I don’t see how this doesn’t give Roger the power to impose any penalty he wants.
Roger will do whatever he wants.... but the judge ruled 6 games is in line with what the league has done in the past and you cant just arbitrarily change your punishments.

Right. He was just black balled by the league. And arguably deservedly so. Ultimately not enough talent for the baggage he brought.
really... do me a favor and go look on youtube and search for Joe Mixon knocks female out. Now tell me how what he did is nay different than rice and then explain why Mixon still got drafted and Rice was blackballed. Why wasnt Mixon blackballed????? Simple.... Mixon was 20 and coming out of college, Rice was 28 or so and already going downhill. Make no mistake, Rice was not blackballed for smacking he girlfriend... he was blackballed for smacking his girlfriend and being an aging RB.

im curious.... have you seen any protests at Bengals games for Joe Mixon? Any public outcry for Joe Mixon? Because Joe Mixon wins the award for best uppercut on a female in the history of the league... I dont care that he was in ollege... no outcry by Bengals fans when he was drafted. Why? Because they all thought he could help them.... and he has.
