Are you talking about the 2010 game in Minny that a "better clutch" QB beat Romo and the Cowboys?

Did you watch that game by any chance?
The Cowboys had the number 1 defense in the league that year. The team was Super Bowl caliber. We beat the crap out the Eagles and ended McNabbs career. My point is our teams were good enough to win.

The problem is that Jerry and Stephen have long favored offense over defense. Look at our spending/cap allocations. For years, it's always heavily tilted toward the offense. Even if you adjust for Dak's big contract, which skews the analysis, they still spend more on offense. They pay WRs more than CBs. They pay OL more than DL.

And I think they tend to then seek out coaches that fit their philosophy. Marinelli stuck around for long as he did because he convinced Jerry and Stephen that he could turn crap into gold on the DL. Hence why there never really was any top level talent added along the DL in recent years, save for a pick or two.

They both had front row seats to 3 of the best teams in NFL history - 92, 93 and 95. So they both know how valuable having talented rotations on both lines is and yet they don't address that properly. Parcells was the last time a true effort was made to build the team from the trenches up.

Yeah. And the OL got Romo destroyed in the game against Minnesota. Same D allowed old man Favre to put up 30 plus points.

Point is.

This team NEVER shows up when it matters. Regardless of who is under center.

2014 was an example of a good (not great) team that could've made it further.
No NFL QB had ever led the league in passer rating in both the regular season and playoffs until Romo did it that year.
Dallas broke all Dallas' scoring records for the month of December
Yet, the only incomplete pass in the entire second half of a playoff loss at Green bay was the Dez overturned catch.

Eli was clearly the better quarterback in the playoffs when we played the Giants. Eli is going into the Hall of Fame based of how he performed in the clutch. Jimmy G. and Goff outplayed Dak. Goff had a clutch run to hold onto the lead.

Eli threw for 160 on 12 complete passes that game.........again it was a wierd game but Eli did not "Clutch" anything we had 11 penalties to their 3 and even out rushed and passed them....again their D (the start of a great D playoff run) had huge plays when it mattered and ours folded at the wrong times....The Goff game just stop.... Anderson rushed for over 100 yards and he wasn't even playing football most of the season before that. Again everything does not always mean "We need a better QB" Rodgers of course Farve HOF for sure....Eli getting in the HOF will be debated forever for a reason and Goff and Jimmy G are not considered clutch by anyone but someone trying to make a point that just is not there.

You have to admit we are unlucky as well. Didn’t two offensive lineman get hurt against the Vikings.

Dak and Romo had the ball with a chance to win both games. Neither quarterback could get the job done.

And if this was golf that would be a correct statement...buts its not...again saying if you switched Eli and Romo in that game that the Cowboys would win is a huge stretch and saying Jimmy G would've faired better than Dak if you switche the jerseys in that game is an even bigger one....Jimmy G had a very pedestrian game with a huge defensive and run game effort...he would've had a worse day if he was the QB of the team getting trucked on both trench lines.

The Marinelli influenced drafts were a direct result of the GM by committee approach that Jerry thinks is so great. Asks everyones opinion then picks the one he likes the best.

Agree that MM is the best HC we have had other than the two obvious, but I still don't think he can hire, fire or cut anyone without Jerry's approval.

And the entire locker room knows it. And Jerry knows it and makes it no secret. Either thinks it's no problem or doesn't care. All it does is make a difficult job (NFL HC) damn near impossible.

Jerry listens to MM more where he didnt listen to Garrett.

LOL at praising MM. He's not the answer. The biggest issue they had last year was the OL. They were a penalty fest. If there was a coach to be fired, it was the OL coach but he's MM's buddy so he gets a pass.

Its not praise to say he is better than Garrett.

There is no Oline coach that could have coached up that bunch last year once Tyron went down.

Jerry leaves plenty of players out to dry on defense, too. When you hit on good players in the draft and refuse to do anything in FA to compliment those players, you get good pieces who will never win anything. They can go somewhere else if they want a ring or take Jerry's money and go with the status-quo. Micah will realize that soon, if he doesn't already.

Good pieces in FA to add? You mean like Kearse, Hooker, Barr?

Romo and Dak both had teams that could have won the Super Bowl or at least made it. Romo 2007, 2011, and 2014. Dak 2016, 2018, and 2021. In the end they lost to teams with better/clutch quarterbacks. Eli, Farve, Rodgers twice, Goff, and Jimmy G outplayed our guys.

Yah right. You are kidding yourself.

Dak 2021. LOL

You clearly dont understand what you are talking about.

romo idk

but dak jerry admit himself he have to stack offense to make every thing “dak friendly” so that is less resource for the defense

LOL............the term "QB friendly" began with romo buddy. Jerry just called it "Romo friendly" back then.

Another ridiculous comment by a troll squashed instantly.

The Cowboys could not have beaten the 49ers last season? If we score a touchdown we win that game. The 49ers were a dropped interception away from winning the Super Bowl. You are clueless or have an agenda. The Cowboys were a top 8 NFL team going into the playoffs.
