Dallas’ $40-million-a-year quarterback is worth half as much as Brady but is paid twice as much as the seven-time Super Bowl champion. At age 45 and entering his 23rd season, Brady charged the Bucs $15 million this season for his services.

Good read. Dak was never worth this contract. Jerry was bidding against no-one and way overpaid for a QB that is at best average and coming off a big injury.
NO it wasnt move on..that could be said about the top 10 QB salaries around the league which now Daks is 8th..get cluse wake up its what top 10 qbs get paid and Dak is that.. you see how rogers, murray, Carr, burrows, and Stafford performed game 1? Russ lost as well.

How about the other 10 qbs making 40+ using one example is an outlier not the norm. did Watson give up money, wilson, Rogers, Murray, carr, Stafford, etc Lamar wanting Watson money not Dak money,,daks 8th now get over it..BTW he has Lamb and Gallup just got paid and coming soon, you forget that Schultz on FT for 10+ mil those aren't targets?

We went 10 yrs with an UDFA now 7 yrs with a 4th round pick . Maybe some time in this Decade the Pokes might pick a QB with a premium pick ( 1or 2 ) and strike gold. It’s tough picking towards the bottom third of rounds to come across “franchise” though and that’s where this franchise is .

I’m sorry but what has LaMar Jackson done in playoff football to blow off a big offer . Same with Watson . That’s a monster contract the Browns gave him .

With how out of control QB contracts are, it’s going to become a trend for teams to shy from top end guys at the position and settle for 2nd tier players.

Brady is a big reason why QB’s are getting so much financial respect but he didn’t do it on his own.

Whether the guy “ liked “ Dak or not is irrelevant. Based on results it’s hard to argue where Dallas is relative to actual SB contention not pretension and to call the guy these names because he has an opinion is juvenile but expected on these forums .

Jerry and Stephen proved wanting in their negotiating skills, when they could have signed Dak for less, one year before they did. Not very wise.
Despite that obviously less-than-wise decision to stall an agreement to play hardball, Dak's play didn't award them "bang for their bucks." :omg:

Of course, the Cowboys' organization did manage to catch a break the first four years or so, with a contract justly befitting a 4th round selection.

A strategy going into a QB before locking into these massive deals is get a drafted QB under rookie deal that gives you a 4 yr window to judge is this the guy forward with or move on . I suggest Stephen get with the program it’s time for Jerry to sip drinks nibble peanuts and kick back in the suite .

They should have let Dak test the market. I reckon there would have been as much interest in Dak at 25 million as there was for Cooper Rush to the practice squad.

This is a fallacy I see too often. Yes, Jerry may have been able to get Dak for 30ish million a year if he had a little more negotiation savvy (he has none and gets hosed routinely), but I guarantee that another team would have snapped him up for something in the 30-35 million range. Washington, Denver, LA, SF, Miami, and other teams would have been in on Dak at the time.
Your telling me the Cowboys could have pawned Dak off on Washington and didn't jump on that? Another poor decision by the organization.

I will answer the end of your post as it is coherent.
Rogers is a SB champion and league MVP and even he wrecked his team by taking too much of the cap. I am not a Murray fan either. Carr threw for 295 and 2 TDs. Burrows took his team to the SB in his 2nd season and threw for 338 and 2 TDs. I think Stafford is overrated and was better than Dak week 1. Russell Wilson threw for 340 yds and 2 TDs. Not his fault his RBs both fumbled inside the 5 yd line.

Did you watch any football last weekend?

Brady was a QB before he even met his wife and I do believe even back when he was single he wasn't the highest paid QB.
The old wife bs is what QB deprived fans try to use. TB12 wants rings he take less to get more. For most players now it’s give me the money and Jerry did just that.

nope only this one game and Their salary can be used..dont give a flying chicken poops worth of care what they HAVE done Staford forced ball's up some rookie and its not NEW 17 ints led the leagues last year..
Inexcusable to have 3 turnovers let alone 5 from your 40mil+ qbs..sorry but no matter what else they do they LOST and it was squarely on them,. Murray also lost bad game.. carr did nothing but choke it up 3 INTs and 2 Fumbles times

how clueless are you to excuse BAD FOOTBALL you now trying to count hollow garbage stat padding from qb when they all were to blame directly for their losses.

THET LOST THE GAMEs LOOKS mean nothing stats mean nothing.

that all that matters those mistakes cost their team. Period end of story.

yes Russ didnt choke the game away BUT this place states its what you do when it counts and he did not get them into the endzone PERIOD when you get new giant deal far greater then daks your offense should score more than that, hes the leader hes the savior that came over and guess what, LOST he did not carry nor overcome his coaches of his teams' mistakes. Much like dak haters expect here.he left Seattle for more weapons and better shot and failed his first time out.
