This defense is special

There are people on this very forum who have no idea how good this defense is. They are too busy talking about every season before this one that they don't even get to enjoy what's on the TV in front of them this year.

I'm sure most of us know who these certain people are.

The defense is looking really good. I still don't quite trust them on 3rd down and anything less than 8 yards though. I did thoroughly enjoy watching Quinn use tons of packages to blitz tonight. Everyone got in on the action. It almost looked like we ran a hybrid 2-5-4

They need to get better against the run for me to consider them “special”, but they’re certainly a very good NFL defense. This defense with last year’s offense would be the best team in the NFC.

But this defense is nowhere near the early 90s defenses.

They can be both.

Need to be more consistent vs run AND be best defense in NFL.

As for being better than 90's team with 3 SBs I will hold my tongue.

No need for Cowboys on Cowboys crime.

I haven’t seen a Cowboys defense play this well since Doomsday. They’re playing even better than the 90’s defense so far. It’s only been 3 games so the jury is still out, but if they keep this up this team is going a long way.

Well last years Offense until the end of the year was putting up so many points, it turned the opponents one dimensional and the defense could just pin the ears back and take chances. This years defense is playing close games and spending more time on the field, yet still playing solid. With that said, it might be to early to say, but yeah, I agree with you. This defense this year looks better.

It was certainly fun watching them harass Jones all night. As a person that loves defense, it's fantastic to watch. There are a few areas they could improve on, sure, but they're still growing and geling together.

Quinn was such a great hire.

They are not special against the run because of the weak link wolf hunter. He sucks and sucks bad. He gave up the only Giants Td due to being blocked which happens every single run play. We are going nowhere with this weak link. If Q cant see it, then maybe he needs an eye check up.

They will get destroyed by better running teams. Other than Parsons our Linebackers are the worst in the NFL. If we are 500 I would be surprised. We are only as strong as our weakest link and LVE is a disaster and cannot play the run.

Honestly, who would you trust on 3rd and less than 8, other than any defense opposite our offense? (Just saying we always worry about being able to convert, not that we can't.)

Way too early to be comparing this defense to the doomsday defenses or the defenses we had in the 90s that were winning Super Bowls. Our 92 defense was the number one defense in the entire league. That defense forced nine turnovers in the Super Bowl. In the opener Tampa moved the ball pretty much at will against us but we didn’t break. The one thing this defense is doing real good right now is getting to the QB. We currently lead the league in sacks. We have a long way to go, let’s see if the defense holds up throughout the season.
