Donovan Wilson is playing so very well, but it's only a matter of time before incumbent starter Javon Kearse
is healthy enuff to return

- So do we bench Donovan in place of Kearse ?

- Malik Hooker is FS centerfield type, not a role suited for Donovan, nor Kearse. They both seem to be at their best when boxed closer to the line.

Donovan will still see some playing time as we employ 3 safety look in Dan Quinn's scheme.
But both Kearse and Hooker are full timers always.

It's a great luxury problem to have, at the cost of lesser playing time for Donovan.

BTW, enjoy Wilson as much as you can, as he's gonna hit the FA market with NFL teams bound to
toss a big contract at him. :(
My question with Donovan Wilson is can he spy Hurts the way he was spying Jones? Jones stopped killing us with his runs when Quinn adjusted and had Wilson spy on him. Also I want to point out it is very refreshing having coaches make in game adjustments. That didn't happen much in the Garrett era.

This is the best Dallas has been at safety in a loooong time and not ironically, the best they have been in pass coverage in a long time too. I hope Jerry starts taking the S position more seriously in the future.
This is he best we've been at safety since Woodson and Roy Williams was back there. No disrespect to the GOAT Matt Johnson intended :muttley:

I doubt Wilson gets benched. The Cowboys run a three safety line up plus Kearse can play linebacker. Wilson is earning himself a big contract from some team in the offseason.

Only this is gonna further strengthen the philosophy notion from Stephen Jones that the Cowboys do Not need to prioritize safety high in the NFL draft.

Quinn like moving guys around using different personnel groupings, I see playing time for Wilson even after Kearse returns.

Mukuamu and Bell are available, also if need be -- it's really an advantageous situation, with that kind of depth.

Kearse, Hooker, Donovan, Mukuamu, Bell,... this is all about Wil McClay .

Stephen makes Wil that much damn harder with trying to find quality safety play, but McClay certainly does it.

and who hired McClay? who has promoted McClay? when other teams like Houston were shopping for GM who convinced and paid McClay to stay? I'm sorry I give the Jones group credit for hiring and staying with him. I have seen reports McClay is the 3rd most powerful man in Dallas and the Jones group listens to him. I know no one around here likes givne Jerry or Stephen any credit but I can tell you McClay did not hire himself. I give credit when credit is due

We should bring back Pat Watkins, Alan Ball, Keith Davis and Danny McCray!

All kidding aside, I like Danny McCray. He’s a good dude

"I don't have odds for you, but he'll work [on Wednesday]," said McCarthy. "We'll give him the full complement tomorrow. We'll see how he comes out of the rehab part of today. He wants to go - I do know that.

"Tomorrow will be a big practice and the heaviest workload we have of the week."

In the absence of Kearse, players like Donovan Wilson have stepped up and in impressive fashion, but defensive coordinator Dan Quinn says the Cowboys "won't have a problem" fitting Kearse back into the mix.
