Let me start out by saying that there is literally NOTHING that Cooper Rush does better than Dak Prescott. NOTHING. Lie to yourselves if you want to. Allow your biases against Dak to cloud your thinking all you want but there is nothing Rush does better. He plays within his own ability and doesn't try to do to much and manages to do just enough. That's his job. Yes, I give him props for that, he deserves it.

The funny thing to me is, the same people who are pumping up Cooper Rush are the people who saw him in training camp and in the preseason, who were screaming from the rooftops for Will Grier to be handed the backup QB job. That's not hilarious to anyone else? Yall think he's just a guy that turns it on with lights on?

So all of a sudden, Dak gets hurt, and Cooper Rush comes in and performs the role of a substitute teacher and we happen to win two games and now he's better? All he's been asked to do is follow the teacher's lesson plan and not let the kids burn down the classroom. THAT'S IT! We've scored two touchdowns in the last seven quarters and all of a sudden, he gives us a better chance to win. We lose these games easily if not for the defensive efforts we have gotten. Dak hangs 40 on that Giants team. Make it make sense. I got a BC powder for your eventual headaches.

Stop this ridiculousness.
It seems like your first paragraph contradicts itself. His best attribute is that he plays within himself, which Dak doesn't do. Dak tries to force throws, and sometimes it works, but all too often it doesn't.

Well said. Rush is doing his job. He's managing the game and the defense is keeping it winnable. But everything has to go just right to win these games that with Dak or another great QB we'd have won by a landslide.

Id just add that sometimes, this is how you have to win... Even with Dak, or Rodgers or whomever. The Cowboys should take note of that.

So Dak would have won the games in a landslide? Do you have the winning lottery numbers too?

I think it would have turned out close to the same because the things that stopped us weren't really on Cooper Rush. He made the plays that were there to be made. The QB can't help drops or pass interference not being called.

Exactly when Dak gets back dont change to much but the route tree opens up more for plays you need it to.

Yeah the moment you don't objectively disown Dak you're a Cooper Rush hater. This board is ridiculous.

I just need Rush to continue being a competent backup and when Dak is healed hand the reins back over with us still in contention for the division. If we have any prayer of doing anyhting in the psostseason then we need Dak as the starting QB. One thing I hope that the boy wonder (Moore) learned while Dak was out is that it is OK to run the ball. Use the run to set up the pass. Pollard/Zeke should be running the ball 25-30 times a game. We don't need him acting like we have Aaron Rodgers behind center and tossing the ball around 50 times a game.

Its not the board, thank god, imagine how the already bad "Cowboy Fan" are dumb headline would be if all the fans thought Cooper Rush was a top 10 QB just wasting away on our practice sqaud and made it through what 4 or 5 waiver seasons...its the same people over and over and over again..the ABD crowd. Now its not "Bring me Rodgers or Mahomes"..."See Cooper Rush is better" This ad was brought to you by the same people who endorsed "Andy Dalton is better"....

It shouldn't have been an eked-out win, though. The missed interference in the end zone turned a probable 7 points into 3. Lamb's drop took away a probable 7 points. The other missed interference on Brown took away at least another 3 points. Could have easily been 34-19, but the team eked out a win thanks to the officials and drop.

i don’t disagree, but it’s neither here nor there because Dak doesn’t get the same contextual lens. In general or in this specific conversation

Whenever Dak is injured he become this mythological character of Dan Marino and Tom Brady mixed to the Dallas Prescott fans.

Remember 2020 when he got injured, but if he was healthy he was going to throw for 6,000 yards and 60 TDs?

The fact they are making Cooper Rush smear posts shows how insecure they are about Dak's abilities but they don't know what else to do. Dak is not just letting the Cowboys down, he's letting all his believers down, and they're clearly hurting.

Just because someone says that Dak is better than Rush is not smearing Rush. That is their opinion which they are entitled to.

I also think this QB controversy is overblown. Rush is a good backup and nothing more. He didn't win the last two games. Our defense did. If anything, Cowboys fans should be praising the defense, not Rush. This saying that Rush should take over for Dak is silly.

It's this board feeding off of the drama queen media. I talk to plenty of fans that would laugh at any of the Dak hate we see here. And trolls are almost supported here.

I love Dak, but this is a “what have you done for me lately?” business.

Dak was awful in Week 1 and got hurt. We lost.

Rush has been very solid in Weeks 2-3, both wins.

If Rush can keep this up, then what? And if Dak comes back and lays another egg, then what?

Both huge “ifs”. I still think Dak will come back and play at a high level, but let’s see how it plays out.

Rush is very comfortable in this offense and is playing rock solid football. Maybe with our strong defense and run game, a “game manager” who takes deep shots every now and then is what we need?

Injuries create opportunities, and Dak knows that better than anyone.

Yep.

And it is insanely hilarious how "the same people" are repeatedly described in posts being "80% of the board" or similar nonsense, when, in reality, they represent a mere fraction of actual total members.

Yes, the team has played well enough to win despite the penalties. The defense is certainly the star of the show thus far. But Rush has led the offense to get points and that should not be underrated. Also, the style of Rush's play doesn't require the Oline to block so long, etc.. People see how it all fits together and are understandably curious why a guy in his 7th year seems to struggle so much.

If Dak was a consistently high performer (regardless of game outcome), questions wouldn't be getting asked.

Competition is good and if Dak rises to the occasion it benefits everyone. But he shouldn't just keep his job simply because he has been the starter. He needs to show he is the better player.

Quarterbacks in general are viewed in a vacuum. It's a poor way to treat the position, but that's what fans do. It's just like saying Rush is 3-0. No, the team is 3-0 with Rush at QB. How important was it that he was the QB in those games? That's hard to say. If the defense had been as porous as some of those in the past, for example, would we have been able to win those games with Rush at QB? Again, can't say.

However, just because we often fail to use a contextual lens when it comes to QBs, it doesn't mean that we shouldn't
