What's Funny to me about Rush vs Prescott

Let me start out by saying that there is literally NOTHING that Cooper Rush does better than Dak Prescott. NOTHING. Lie to yourselves if you want to. Allow your biases against Dak to cloud your thinking all you want but there is nothing Rush does better. He plays within his own ability and doesn't try to do to much and manages to do just enough. That's his job. Yes, I give him props for that, he deserves it.

The funny thing to me is, the same people who are pumping up Cooper Rush are the people who saw him in training camp and in the preseason, who were screaming from the rooftops for Will Grier to be handed the backup QB job. That's not hilarious to anyone else? Yall think he's just a guy that turns it on with lights on?

So all of a sudden, Dak gets hurt, and Cooper Rush comes in and performs the role of a substitute teacher and we happen to win two games and now he's better? All he's been asked to do is follow the teacher's lesson plan and not let the kids burn down the classroom. THAT'S IT! We've scored two touchdowns in the last seven quarters and all of a sudden, he gives us a better chance to win. We lose these games easily if not for the defensive efforts we have gotten. Dak hangs 40 on that Giants team. Make it make sense. I got a BC powder for your eventual headaches.

Stop this ridiculousness.

exactly, again we are not wining anything with Rush or Dak playing bad..we all need to hope we get pre denver Dak back for a run. if Dak is cooked then we need to get another QB this offseason. Rush still will not be the answer.

I love Dak, but this is a “what have you done for me lately?” business.

Dak was awful in Week 1 and got hurt. We lost.

Rush has been very solid in Weeks 2-3, both wins.

If Rush can keep this up, then what? And if Dak comes back and lays another egg, then what?

Both huge “ifs”. I still think Dak will come back and play at a high level, but let’s see how it plays out.

Rush is very comfortable in this offense and is playing rock solid football. Maybe with our strong defense and run game, a “game manager” who takes deep shots every now and then is what we need?

Injuries create opportunities, and Dak knows that better than anyone.

Yes, there are things Rush does better than Dak. He processes the defense faster & makes quicker decisions. He has better pocket awareness and is more accurate with the ball. That doesn't necessary mean he is better overall than Dak. But acting like he isnt better in some areas is wrong.

I wouldn't say he's more accurate with the ball. He's more accurate on some throws while Dak is more accurate on others. Our receivers have made a few acrobatic catches on throws from Rush that should have been easier. The throw Dak seems to struggle with the most are on crossing patterns. He tends to throw behind receivers on those. Don't know about pocket awareness, either, because we've mainly seen Rush accurately read the defense and get the ball out quickly. Don't have to be too aware in the pocket if you're getting the ball out of your hands instead of moving around in the pocket trying to find a receiver.

I'd just like to see him get back to where he was before he was injured during last season. He hasn't been the same since. Those who are down on or against Dak seem to ignore the high level he was playing at before that injury. Maybe this time off, even though it's for another injury, will be good for him.

Are you saying that only people who aren't sure Dak is the answer were against Rush as the back up?

I don't care who starts where, I just wanna see wins. And I think most people on BOTH sides of the Dak "debate" feel the same. Very few would rather see us lose to say they were right, at least I would hope so.

You know the point. The point is that just because a blowout occurred it doesn't automatically mean the offense was awesome. So don't throw out a score as proof any one player or group is solely responsible.

Also, the arguments about Dak blowing out the Giants are weak when you consider the Giants results against everyone. They only scored double digits three times in their last 8 games of 2021. With two of those being a whopping 10 points and one 21 point effort. So yes, most NFL teams could have put almost anyone at QB and beat them by a couple scores.

Regardless of how well other aspects of the team are doing, we need better QB play than we have been getting from #4.

I think right now that defenses are going to see stopping our running game as the key to defeating us, so if he can accurately read it, there should be some passing opportunities with eight men in the box. The only way to get them out of eight men is to burn them on it in the passing game. Our use of play-action creates those opportunities, like the deep pass to Lamb that was perfectly thrown. If he can hit on those, it's a lot tougher to play the run and quick passing game.

It shouldn't have been an eked-out win, though. The missed interference in the end zone turned a probable 7 points into 3. Lamb's drop took away a probable 7 points. The other missed interference on Brown took away at least another 3 points. Could have easily been 34-19, but the team eked out a win thanks to the officials and drop.

does Rush to anything physically better than Dak? No. Then again being a QB in this league has more to do with what's between the ears. If I were to tell you Rush was a rookie and never started a game in his life and you saw him play the way he has his first two games this year you would elated.

Dallas had no pre-season game of note and then in Game 1 faced the league's leading defense in Tampa.
Dak looked awful but this team looks awful week 1 basically every year because they sit out pre-season and Dak was uber productive last year.

Even the dummies typing this nonsense realize when Dak comes back he will start and play well versus these same type of teams Rush is beating.

Dak did not play well the last third of last season nor the playoff loss.

He followed that up with a stinker for 3 points on opening day.

He needs to prove he can play well now. Not rest on past laurels.
