Make no mistake, Rush is playing for the starting job Sunday

Rush would legitimately have to put up some numbers that would rival a top-rated passer in the league. He'd also need to show that he can put the team on his back and carry them to victory when other phases of the team are having an off day. He's demonstrated none of these things thus far. Rush manages the game very well as a backup QB, while Kellen Moore calls plays within his limitations. Rush hasn't won anything yet; the defense, running game, and special teams are winning games. To say he's winning discredits the rest of the team's efforts because no QB wins a game throwing for 102 yards with a 6.4 average. If you're unwilling to acknowledge this, you're being disingenuous.

Well Dak cannot come back and stink up the place. Better get his **** together and learn to get the ball down the field.

I am a fan of Dak first and Rush 2nd but no more excuses. Get to the playoffs and win or get off the pot.

5-0 and no ints or turnover? That is what makes Rush special. No turn overs. Solid play.

I doubt it matters how many yards or td's or wins rush has they have no intention of sitting a fully healthy and ready dak.

I like what he has done nice job but he is not a starter in Dallas he is a backup

I think he could be a transistionary qb for a team which I would call a step up from a backup. The one thing he really has going for him is that the speed of the game is not too much, he reads well and can execute without mistakes. That is good enough to be a back up for sure and possibly the starter for a year or so as a team rebuilds or drafts a new guy

It's not Rush's job to win it's Dak's job to lose. Starting with a possible loss at Detroit, it reeks of a trap game.

I don't care what you hear from whomever ....

A lot is riding Sunday...

Rush wins Sunday night he will have earned the starting spot.

Now...if this team decides to change course.. going back to Dak...and we start losing...then this falls on McCarthy....and you got bigger problems.
Remember when you said Kellen Moore was going to beat out Romo for the starting job? Lol. Good times

Maybe. But he actually has to prove it. He hasn't yet. I'm not your Dak slobberer, I was against paying him, and continue to be so. But Rush has to show something other than not being crap while our defense wins. Show it, take the starting job. I'm all for it.

I don’t think this is the case. However if Dak does come back and continues to suck against weaker teams then it will signal to Jerry that he needs a qb.

Doesnt matter if Rush wins Jerry wont side a 100m cap hit-it would make him look bad and kill any market value for Dak. Rush has looked ok but not replace 100m cap hit better

I agree, but there is another way of looking at this. For as anemic the passing game has looked with Rush, has it been that much better with Dak? A 100m cap hit better? And I’m not talking about his performance against the Philly B team. I’m talking about performances against Tampa, SF, Arizona, Denver etc. Hell even the games we won last year you really think the performance was a 100m cap hit good? Honestly.

We happen to have a back up QB that has been in the system for a long time. He is doing a good job and may start for another team. But not so sure we get away from Dak. Pretty sure with this formula we would have won with Dak playing. It’s about using that formula with running the ball and high % shorter passes. When Dak returns we will see the difference. I think Dak may go after the longer pass options more often. It’s a matter if he can connect on those longer throws.

Let’s see how Rush does against another team that’s closer to equal. He is going to need to take advantage of every drive. And our Defense will need to be sharper and more aggressive than ever. Don’t let hurts breath.

Jerry cares more about money than winning. Dak has 100m hit this year and 90m next year.No way Jerry is sitting him if healthy. Make Jerry a laughing stock.
Then you have the problem of Rush if made a starter asking for a raise-say 15-25m year more. That reason alone will keep him as backup

Rush is playing for a starting job some where else It will not be here

Honestly............No true GM or coach is dumb enough to think that Cooper Rush is starter material. NONE!

Only a handful of clowns on here actually see that kind of talent. The same fools that think Dak is average.

Has there EVER been a group of fans that are worse at judging QB's in the history?

Either way he’s going to be a laughingstock. The only way he escapes that is if Dak suddenly wakes up and becomes the second coming of Joe Montana and that isn’t bound to happen.
