If you think elite is scoring 3 points in a half, I don’t care if you are an expert or not, that’s not elite.

You didn't read that correctly.... I said there are current and former players, coaches, GMs and HOFers who say Dak ISN'T elite, but he IS very good. Thats the truth. Nobody said he's elite....

Speaking of elite quarterbacks and scoring 3 points.... not in a half, but a WHOLE GAME.

Tom Brady only put up 3 points yesterday against a Panthers team who's in full rebuild mode, being coached by an interim coach, and traded away McCaffrey who was their best player.....

According to your intelligent logic about elite quarterbacks and only scoring 3 points against arguably the worst team in the NFL.... enlighten us on your mindset about what happened to Brady please.....

Who cheers against their own team? Being real isn’t cheering against your own team.

Im not going to call out any names.... but just look at the normal Dak experts who provide us with multiple posts and threads when Dallas loses and Dak is under center.... but when the Cowboys win and Dak is under center and plays well.... THEY POST LESS... AND JUST DISAPPEAR FOR THE WEEK.

The same people who applauded Rush for his 100 yard passing contribution, are those same folks nitpicking and downplaying Dak for his solid performance today passing for over 200 yards and playing in his second game in 9 months.

Only on this board.... 100 is greater than 200+

You can tell the people who weren't happy today. They tried to say Dak looked like this or didn't do that against the Lions.... But these are the same Lions that put up 45, 24, and 35 points against the Eagles, Vikings and Seahawks. They only put up 6 on us....

The Eagles only beat the Lions by 3, the Vikings only beat the Lions by 4, and the Seahawks only beat the Lions by 3..... Dallas beat them by 18 points....

And they still tried to downplay his performance after coming back from being inactive for over a month.

Where's the praise for the win that was heaped on other quarterbacks we have that produced less???

Hmmm....

Overreaction.

He was pretty good today. He did well with the tools he has to work with.

I expected the offense around him to be a little more potent, but he's just not as good without Cooper AND Lamb. That said, I think this offense is still trending upward.

You really can't glean a whole lot from this game, as far as I'm concerned, other than Dak has a way better arm than Rush and makes pretty good decisions and doesn't turn it over a whole lot.
Good decisions? Looked like the same indecisive Dak we saw last year to me. He just threw some balls up for grabs- should have had 2, maybe 3 INTs today. Lucky the other team can't catch his throws either, lol.

The Lions have the worst defense in the NFL and previously conceded the following number of points this season:

38 (Eagles), 27 (Washington), 28 (Vikings), 48 (Seahawks) and 29 (Patriots).

The Cowboys scored 0 points in the 1st quarter, they were trailing 6-3 at half time and were a Micah Parsons TD saving tackle away from falling behind in the 4th quarter. The score was 10-6 to the Cowboys until deep in the 4th quarter when the Dallas D forced two turnovers in Lions territory to jazz up the scoreline. Prescott even butchered a field goal attempt by falling over and taking a needless sack to waste an excellent return by Turpin.

If people simply look at the result they see oh 24 points were put up and they look at Prescott's window dressed numbers and everything looks easy and efficient. When in reality when people actually consider the facts of the game it's a different story.

I'm not overly fussed how many yards Prescott throws for - but obviously the less yards and fewer big plays he executes, particularly at key moments, only exacerbates how bad his contract actually is when the team could have a competent rookie or vet QB earning chicken feed to throw for circa 225 yards a game, 2 TDs and 0 Interceptions pursuant to a conservative game plan playing off an elite defense.

Romo and Brees dialed in down towards the backend of their career but it was fine as they were still capable of producing big plays when required - particularly Romo in 2014.

My main concern with Prescott is for him to be more effective he really needs to use his legs more - will we see that going forwards?

Sort of like the Dak homers that disappeared when Rush was playing and winning. They only popped up to credit the defense but they all came out when Rush played poorly vs. Philly and are all out now that Dak is back. Stop the hypocrisy.

Someone might have already said this but first drive he sailed a high pass to a wide open Ferguson(?) that would’ve been at least 25 yard but instead, punt. Then he took sack that put them out of field goal range later. Those are the two that had my head in my hands, but I know there were some triple coverage throws on third as well
It was his first game back, was he perfect? No, but he played well. The offense struggled mostly due to their inability to convert 3rd and shorts on the ground.

I thought about starting a thread on this because I honestly don’t know.

With Dak in there, the Cowboys have a lot of run plays the defense sniffs out for -1, 0, or 1 yard.

With Rush in there, there were a lot fewer nothing/negative runs it seemed like.

I don’t know how much control a QB has at the line up scrimmage if he can run a play To a different side if he sees the defense loaded up one way. It feels like Dak has trouble diagnosis the defensive when he’s not in shotgun. Rush obviously isn’t as good overall but he seemed to be aligning them better.

^ no idea if that’s a thing. Amateur observation.
I think a lot has to do with Kellen Moore's play calling, he gets too cute. Just run Zeke up the middle, it's that simple.

Dak is not good enough to beat the best teams. This team needs Rush to advance in the playoffs. Rush keeps the team from trying to do too much.

How did Dak kill drives? Not his fault they couldn't convert third and shorts on the ground.
We had 10 freaking points with 4 minutes left in the game against the bottom 2 defense in the nfl......but its the play calling, wrs, oline.....the guy seeking hot dogs and the at&t parking attendants fault, and not dak's? Get out of here with that garbage.

You're not talking about me, because I'M the one on record applauding Rush every week and IM the one who said if Rush led us past the Rams and Eagles, he should remain the starter for the rest of the season.

THERE ARE MANY WHO WITNESSED ME TYPING THAT!!!

So damn.... i just pissed all over your attempt to put me in the same class as you hypocritical mouth-breathers but you failed miserably.

This was a bad weekend for you and your co-minions who cheer for Dak to have a bad game.

If you have kids.... how do you explain to them why you wore your Cowboys jersey but continued to scream at the tv for the Lions defense to make a stop??? How do you explain slamming the remote control down after the game and the Cowboys won.... and you're sitting in your gameday recliner wearing a Cowboys jersey???

Poor kids.... they must be extremely confused about what being a fan of a team is really about.

My condolences to your agenda this weekend Army Ant.

Let’s get this out of the way first:

1. I’m pro Dak
2. He is better than Rush
3. I’m not suggesting Rush should start over Dak
4. I hope we win a super bowl with Dak.

Having said that it’s time that people started being realistic about our QB situation:

1. Dak starts off horribly slow.
2. Dak killed several drives today that were totally ON DAK.
3. He’s not a top 10 QB.
4. He struggled with the 32nd ranked defense.
5. Something is wrong with Dak in terms of seeing/processing the field.
6. Dak’s accuracy is very suspect. I’d say Dak is in the bottom 1/3 of the league in that category.
7. Dak doesn’t elevate the team. Dak doesn’t elevate the team.
8. The WRs are getting plenty open, Dak just doesn’t see them.
9. If they don’t run Dak 3-4 times per game —Dak is going to have a much harder time winning. He needs that threat to keep defenses more honest.
10. The only way Dak wins a SB is if the team Carrie’s him. He is nothing more than a middling bus driver right now.
11. I would love to see Dak develop and become the next Tom Brady, but I don’t think Dak has the football IQ to get it done.
12. Dak has the physical traits but he doesn’t have the mind to get it done as of right now.
13. I like Dak and I like Zeke as a Cowboys fan, but those two together are a handicap to overcome.

The elephant in the room is the stupidity of the Cowboys fans. Either you dont know any football or you one of the legion of trolls on this site.

so we score 24 and you dismiss it because you don't like the way the points were distributed.
yet if we lost you would have 728 posts criticizing.

ok, then...your eagles scored 0 points in the first quarter against Lions. in fact they were trailing 7-0 after the first.
your second favorite team scored 0 points at the half against Lions. they eventually also lost the game.
The viking scored 0 points in the first quarter.
the patriots scored 3 points.

only Seahawks dominated them first half

Did I say you? No. I made a general statement so no need to be defensive or paranoid.

That said, you bringing up whether I have kids or not and insulting my service shows what a peon you are in terms of character and for that you are lumped into a group of others that do the same BS because of your overly emotional investment into a football team.

I said this last year and I'll say it again. I like Dak, I want him to win. I think Dak is a very tough guy that has all the physical tools he needs to be a successful starting QB in the NFL. I think this team can win Super Bowls with Dak at QB.

But IMHO, his play is being effected by fear. He is afraid of getting injured again. Not hurt, injured.

Ever since his gruesome ankle injury he's extremely tentative and quick to dump it off. He doesn't want to run with it, he wants to unload it rather than hold the ball and wait for the play to develop. Any pressure in his face at all and he wants the ball out of his hands asap. And/or he also gets "happy feet" which is badly effecting his accuracy.

To me, this is a mental issue, not a physical one. Like Rocky Balboa in Rocky 3. And unfortunately these issues can take a very long time to get over, if you ever do. Unless he has an Adrian behind the scenes, there isn't anything anyone can do for him. He must find the will to do it himself. I'm not sure if there is anything else he can do, except to fight through it. I sincerely hope he does.

We were terrible on 3rd and short, that's not on the QB.
