Tony Dorsett is the reason I'm a Cowboy fan, Roy Williams got me out of my seat more than any other player his first 2-3 years. Parson is giving me those types of vibes.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
Staubach easily. More than any other player, he was the face of the team, and at the time the team became the most popular in all of sports.

But on top of that he was the ultimate competitor and leader. Teammates said it didn't matter if you were playing checkers or playing basketball in the driveway, he was every bit as determined to win as on the football field

As a fan, you always felt you were in it with Roger in the game. Down 10 points with 4 minutes left? You felt Roger would find a way. I'm not saying people felt he "could" find a way, I'ms saying they had confidence he "would" find a way.

But on top of that, his teammates felt the same. I've seen interviews with guys who played with Roger that said exactly that. They never felt out of a game with Roger at QB.

And one hell of a great guy too. Watch the "A Football Life" episode on Roger Staubach. He is as revered and respected for his life off the field as on it. There are several stories of teammates who were at or near rock bottom that Staubach helped

Romo.

I’m in my mid 30s so a little young to enjoy the dynasty of the 90s

Romo brought this team out of the dumpster after the glory years without much help and love his story of being an UDFA.

I saw one full season of Roger Staubach. Saw that come back game against the Commanders in 79 to get them in the playoffs. Never got to see Lilly play.
When did Staubach play against the Commanders?

Deion Sanders (hes actually my favorite player of all time)

I looked up to him as a kid i used to high step down the street like i was Deion returning an int for a TD

i remember all the kids wanted to be Deion and in football practice all the Dlinemen soon as the ball was snapped ran back to the secondary to try and pick off the pass like Deion

PRIME TIME!!!!!

It saddens me not to hear someone mention Dandy Don Meredith. The QB of the Cowboys back in their expansion years in the 60's and made them a team contending for a championship against the mean old Packers. The good ole boy from Mt Vernon. Portrayed by Mac Davis in the movie North Dallas Forty. Did you all know it was reported he broke his nose 26 times in his football career? With that lone bar across his facemask it is no shocker. But he never took himself out of a game. HOF and original member of MNF with Frank Gifford and Howard Cosell. RIP Dandy. Turn out the lights, the party's over....
