Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni confirmed Tuesday that quarterback Jalen Hurts has a sprained right shoulder, but he isn't ruling him out for Saturday's game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Sirianni called Hurts one of the "toughest" players he knows and someone who "heals fast," so he isn't going to put a timetable on the injury to his throwing shoulder.

"I do not put it past Jalen Hurts, I don't put anything past Jalen Hurts as far as his physical and mental toughness,'' coach Nick Sirianni said Tuesday. "There's a chance he can play this week.''

So it’s his throwing shoulder? He ain’t playing. Not happening.

If they are smart they sit him.
It depends on how bad the sprain is. We don’t real know…just that it is considered minor. I think he probably sits but it’s not a sure thing at all. If he feels ok later in the week who knows.

This thread is proof that for how much we claim the Cowboys live in the Eagle's fans heads... the Eagles live in the Cowboys fans head. Who gives a crap if Hurts plays or doesn't is hurt or isn't. Screw him and win the game.

16 pages and counting... we need to win. That should be the narrative.

Just a reminder Gardner Minshew and the rest of Philly’s backups put up 26 points on our starting defense last season. That was probably a better defense than he’ll be facing on Christmas Eve.

Many defensive starters didn't play in that game including A. Brown, Diggs and Micah. And both Gregory and DLaw played limited snaps. Gregory played 10 snaps (14%) and DLaw played 29 (39%) snaps.

These were the defensive starters from that game.

Player Pos

Carlos Watkins DE
DeMarcus Lawrence DE
Randy Gregory DE
Neville Gallimore DT
Leighton Vander Esch LB
Keanu Neal LB
Nahshon Wright CB
Jourdan Lewis CB
Kelvin Joseph CB
Damontae Kazee S
Malik Hooker

It doesn’t matter they didn’t play any of their starters in a game. We played to win and they didn’t. We’re in the middle of a swoon just like we were last year at this time. Jerry just said on the radio the goal the next three weeks is to get the team playing better.

You said Minshew faced a better defense last year than what he'll face this year. That's not correct.

It is correct because our defense looks like garbage right now with the players we’re stuck with. We’ve lost Hankins, two corners and LVE will be out. Plus Parsons looks beat up and worn out. We have more holes on our defense than we had last year when we played Philly in the second game.

Would you play your MVP QB in an essentially meaningless game? Especially against a team that's 2nd in the NFL in sacks.
We'd do the same thing if we were in their position
i could careless about what those bums do with their fraud qb.
they're runnin' scared.

Well, just heard Marcus Spears say Dallas Goedart will be active for the game. Eagles get another weapon back.

Have we been? 25 years ago we could say that but since the turn of the century it looks like they are headed to their 8th final 4 and 3rd SB. They've literally been to as many SBs as we have playoff wins. 8 final 4's in 22 years and we have the superior franchise? I guess
when did the eagles go to their 8th super bowl and win their 5th?

cowboy fans defending the eagles.
coach landry...forgive them...they know nothing of our history.

You think playing K. Joseph, and K. Neal as starters is a better defense than having Diggs and Parsons? Have you been hitting the bong all day? LOL.

I am reading reliable sources on the Twatter that Hurts could be out 2 weeks to a month. Eagles are saying that he is questionable for Saturday but I think they are trying to gaslight Dallas. I don't think he plays.
they are telling lies about their bum.
he's hurt because they arrogantly thought they could run him like a full-back without suffering any consequences.
he's hurt.
probably badly.

You must be hitting the bong or can’t comprehend. Our defense stinks right now, despite having Diggs and Parsons. We have nothing opposite Diggs and are being forced to have an open competition the next three games to try and find a corner that can play. As for Parsons he’s not the player he was earlier in the season. He’s been rendered ineffective most of the time. He looks beat up and worn out. Him being blocked out of so many plays has caused our vaunted pass rush to disappear. We’ve only had four sacks the past three games. With Hankins out we can’t stop the run up the middle and we’ve been having problems with perimeter runs all season. It’s almost like Mike Nolan has taken over the defense again. It looked like it did in 2020 against the Jaguars. Gardner Minshew has to be licking his chops to get out this defense. He probably won’t have to do much because Philly will likely able to run the ball down our throats.

One of the big reasons our defense stink right now is because of poor play by Joseph. You are nuts thinking starting Joseph over Diggs and Keanu Neal over Parson is a better defense.

If anything, Minshew might do better because he has better team this year but you are wrong saying Minshew will faced a worse defense this year than the one he faced last year. Half of the starters from our defense either didn't play or had limited snaps last year.

The defense we fielded last year in the season finale against the Eagles only gave up 186 yards passing to Gardner Minshew and we had an INT and that was despite not having Diggs and Parsons on the field. The biggest issue in that game was our inability to stop the run. Philly had 149 yards rushing in that game. We were 16th last season against the run and are currently 25th against the run and dropping. I believe our defense is worse off now heading into the second game against Philly than it was last year heading into the second game against Philly. We’re worse against the run and we’ve gotten even worse with Hankins and LVE out. Can you not see that Parsons hasn’t been as effective lately as he was all of last season and early this season? Although Diggs has played solid all season he doesn’t have near as many INT’s as last season.

If we struggle against Philly’s fourth ranked rushing offense all Minshew will have to do is manage the game. With Hankins and LVE out we’re bound to have problems stopping the run. We were having issues at corner when Anthony Brown was playing. He was having a pretty rough year giving up plays down the field when he went down with his injury. He was clearly better last season. When you look at the struggles Brown was having we’re not that much worse off with Joseph and the other scrubs at that position. It’s been mostly injuries that are killing our defense along with opponents figuring out how to neutralize Parsons. Sam Williams who was looking pretty good early has also disappeared lately. He had a costly penalty against Jacksonville.
