The misses were bad but it's all mental. It reminds me of when Crosby had his bad game four or five years ago. Guess who his coach was?

You're right. Mccarthy. Mccarthy isn't going to give up on the man. With that said. I was honestly disappointed with Dak just a bit. When Crosby had his bad day Rodgers was there to support him. Dak? He screamed on the sidelines telling the team to just go for the two. I think Mccarthy will reign Maher in and he will kick all of his kicks in against the 49ers.

Mental is way worse then physical with his job. I'm telling you right now. I fight a bout with the Shanks in golf from time to time and they can completely engulf you. That's just me being a weekend warrior. I can't imagine millions watching me do it over and over. Dude might of just David Duvalled himself.

I'd legit think of calling in a Adam Vinateri. Dude hasn't played in 2 years but I know for a fact he can still drill 30-40 yarders with ease.

Dak said it was just the emotions of the game, afterwards Dak was supportive of Mahar and told him to shake it off we all have bad games.

I think it was good we kept trotting him out until he finally made one, luckily dak was on a mission to give him as many attempts as possible, At least making one should help his confidence, he has like a 93% so hopefully this was all a fluke

I feel for Maher but we're going to need every point we can get against SF. I'd feel better if we had a backup we could trust, just in case...

Whatever Maher’s issue is he better have it straightened out by next week because the Cowboys are going to need some FG’s. It’s going to be very difficult putting up a bunch of TDs on San Francisco’s defense. He was so off on some of those extra points it’s hard to imagine him nailing a FG from 40+ yards out.

Does anyone know if the kicker on XP’s gets to pick the side of the field they kick from. Looked to me like he was off on the angle, minus the one that never got going.

I believe on FG’s its where the play ended right, left, or center that determines the placement, and if the team attempting the FG has a “ waste down” they will put the ball in the middle...

Thanks for any responses

He needed that last one. I don't know how he would've responded if he went complete 0-fer going into SF. In addition, he hit it down the middle from the same side he missed from, so at the very least mechanically he has something mental to build on this week.

How bout just making XPs ?

No doubt this kid will be fine. He will nail a long 3 next week.

Look at it this way... if he reverts to the mean for an average NFL kicker, he won't miss again until about 2032.

I think I posted last night that perhaps he has issues kicking on real grass. He had better get it sorted out because I would hate to lose a close game because of some knucklehead placekicker. BTW, Levi's stadium has real grass. Bermuda. The Star (here in Frisco) has 3 practice fields... two are grass I believe. Go practice.
