Davis was Big Mac's "culture" enforcer with the Packers and, like Philbin, followed him from Green Bay.

The Philbin and Davis moves are NOT BEING MADE BY MICHAEL JOHN MCCARTHY.
only scott mcurley assistant LB coach and the assistant OL coach remain from McCarthy's GB boys....

They are just not renewing many expiring contracts. Clearly they need new coaches on offense. On defense theuly need to let the new dc hire his guys, assuming DQ takes a head coach gig.

If Kellen gets a HC job, he can hire the assistants MM let go. I am guessing MM has a contact list of replacements ready.

Not quite.

Tolzien, Blasko, Joe Whitt, Jr., and Al Harris are also Big Mac guys.
As usual, I definitely appreciate your MM input.
Feel free to elaborate more if need arises concerning this HC.
You're a go to source of accurate inside scoops on MM based off his past history. Keep up the great work.

The Davis & Philbin moves are the most impactful ones when it comes to Big Mac.

When Jerry ordered him to move on from Nolan, given how brutal the Cowboys' defense was in year 1, Mac had no choice but to swallow hard and accept it.

That was hard for Big Mac.

Losing Philbin, if it was involuntary, will be even harder.

Davis was Big Mac's "eyes and ears" and enforcer in Green Bay and continued in that role in Dallas.

Taking Davis away from Mac, is a Kremlin-like power play.

Few outsiders will understand its significance, but everyone inside the organization -- down to the last player on the practice squad, will know what it means.

It will be fascinating to see, should Quinn move on, whether Whitt, Jr. gets the DC position.

If he does not, Big Mac will be even more at the mercy of the whims of the Cowboys' GM/Owner than he was last week.

Tyler Smith was an instant success at LT and LG. Biadasz had his best year. So did McGovern. Philbin doesn't get any credit for that?
Its odd. I was alot higher in Philbin this year than last. It was very reasonable to expect the OL to be bad this year. It wound up being pretty solid.

I think there is a good chance we end up downgrading

Sounds like one of those situations where the head coach can stay if he lets a bunch of his assistants walk.

Same thing happened in Tennessee, Vrabel got to stay but pretty much all the assistants got chit canned.

Fat Mike may have bought himself one more season, but if we are going home early next year the dude is good as gone.

I think Whitt will be new DC and the coaching staff all given one more year (MM, JW, KM),
Payton H/C in 2024 if failure next year
The good news for us is that Fat Mike aint taking family vacations with Jerry like Clappy was.

He aint gonna get a dam decade to prove he is a failure, next year sounds like the gig is up.
