McCarthy on Kellen Moore leaving

I just want to replicate 2016 that team was so much fun to watch The offensive line was so dominant and we could run the ball and keep our defense off the field.
Now watching this team win 12 games is like a horrible roller coaster ride that ends with it coming off the rails in the most embarrassing way at the last play of the year.

Sounds good in theory, we will have to see how it works out though. This team was already #6 in the league in rush attempts, and while the oline isn’t bad they are not exactly the 2016 version.

I don't envy McCarthy in the least. Working behind this FO isn't exactly an ideal setup. Hopefully the draft and a veteran addition or two might serve to overcome what the draft can't resolve by itself. Several needed improvements to the OL, WR, CB and possibly LB and DT also. The challenges to be attended to would be tough to address to completion for any team. Let's hope this team will improve upon its past to do so. The FO should see fit to be far more proactive than they've been previously. It's high time for them to wake up to that. Let's wish them Godspeed in that endeavor. ;)

Translation: Jerry forced KM and Dak on me. Hopefully both will be gone and I hope I'm still here to finally clean up this mess and run this team the way I envision.

It sounds like the Cowboys want to run a offense similar to prime Russ in Seattle. I don’t know if I agree with that. That tells me they don’t trust Dak. How can you extend a quarterback you don’t trust.

Let’s play football like it’s 1995.. Yay..

Imagine relying on defense in 2024 when the league has made all the rules anti-defense.

A few things

A) heard on the radio Mike also said this is the most fun he’s had since joining which is telling about being handcuffed to Jerry’s pet

B) running the ball like 2014 is the way to protect Dak from himself. He even hinted at this saying that they had to limit mistakes/turnovers.

C) If Bijan is there it will be him and a franchised Pollard

D) It’s on Mike 100% if it goes sideways

Sounds good on the surface.
But reminds me of empty campaign promises that aren't kept.

Show me don't tell me.
Absolutely. But success starts with an accurate diagnosis of assets/deficits, strengths/weaknesses, skills/limitations etc…

I am not saying we have a “good” chance at winning a championship with Dak Prescott, but I am saying that our best chance would be to build a top 3 D, and get back to a reined-in Dak that thrived off a good running game and managed a playoff caliber offense in 2016.

Mike is at least speaking in that direction. Of course he has to overcome Jerry and Son to do it— but in theory, this is the correct direction to pursue if the franchise is unwilling to move on from Dak.

Of course, in theory communism works, so yah, there ya go lol
