Congrats fat boy on achieving the almost impossible sub 4.0 yards per touch (catching and receiving) just before getting the boot. Coming in at 3.9 yards per touch before finally getting booted is pretty impressive. Most washed up RBs don;t get anywhere close to that low before being shown the door. Jerry must really love you.

Zeke is either playing for damn near league minimum or Im cutting him post june 1st which would allow largest cap savings for the team. Sorry if that hurts Zeke getting on with another team, but Im doing what is best for the TEAM, just like Zeke did what is best for him when he held out while still under contract..... its all business Zeke.

It's the right move. Elliot was the most overrated player on this team by the fanbase watching since the 90s. In 2016 specifically it was the best run blocking I have seen my life. There have been tons of posts with all sorts of analytical data to show Zeke to never be great, but good at best and this was years ago.

good riddance ,. the most expensive mistake in cowboys history, a selfish entitled washed RB who squeezed the team to the limit while in cabo and jerry obliged ,
dak is working on the worst contract for the cowboys ranking, if he plays like last year dak will be the most costly mistake , ( it will be 10 years with the most mediocre and expensive QB in cowobys history)

Just think, his last play as a cowboy is getting trucked playing Center. He deserved better but he needs to go. I’m glad he got his money though.

But the tag isn’t finalized. To my knowledge they can still sign him to a 3 year 33 mill dollar deal like you suggested.

And while I agree 10 million is a big hit for a RB….Pollard meant a lot to this offense last year. He and Lamb were our best players. But I’m also reluctant to sign a multi year deal with a guy coming off injure so I the tag was smart.

Gallup deal looks favorable to me if he goes back to what he was pre injury.
They still can, but if history is any indicator then thjs front office won't.

That just means the offense around them needs to improve if that's the case, and paying a RB $10.5M makes that more difficult to do. Just because the surrounding situation isn't perfect, doesn't make a bad use of CAP any better.

Not gonna knock you for being the eternal optimist, but restructuring his deal didn't make you like his contract anymore than before the restructure.

Not after he held our. I’ve despised him since. Good bye and good riddance.
He was part of team and ultimately told what to do...or not. One shows poor integrity in one's degrading other's toil and sacrifice. Something about a ring tapper trying to demonstrate 'being tough.'

The June 1st date is for determining how much of the dead money counts against this year's cap versus the 2024.
Pre-June 1st release - all of the dead money counts against the 2023 cap.
Post-June 1st release - the dead money is split --- a certain amount goes against the 2023 cap, the rest against the 2024 cap.
Either way, once the Cowboys cut Elliott today, he is immediately off the team roster. He then can negotiate with other teams today/tomorrow, next week, etc.

You won’t miss Zeke. You might not like the 12 M in dead money this year and 6M next year, but to have him gone will be an addition by subtraction. I hope my Giants don’t make the same mistake with Saquon that you guys made with Zeke…..but I think they will. Sigh

Better player at least, I think gone are the days of super long contracts for running backs. That being said I still agree with your sentiment.

Where are you getting these numbers? He is going to be designated as June 1 and cost only $5 million dead and save $11 million on the cap. Widely reported...
