I wonder if they would carry four running backs?

Maybe three and a fullback?

Or stash that fourth running back on the practice squad?
Yeah some sort of variation of a practice squad guy or fullback, depending on MMs idea on fullback I’d suppose.

Just want healthy bodies by the end and someone else to step in without a dramatic drop off. We had no prayer once Pollard went out of the SF game.

The tight roster numbers are why I don’t like carrying Goodwin every damn year. He isn’t all that good on ST, and it’s all he can do. No reason younger DBs can’t be gunners.

While I dont hate this move. Everyone here saying that this guy is fast, or hits the hole hard, or making up things to justify it either dont watch games outside of the Cowboys or just dont want to admit there were better options.

I am not crapping on this at all. I understand the need for this pickup 100 percent. But dont lie about the guy to justify it. He isnt fast, nor does he "hit the hole" hard. The last 2 years he looks like a shell of himself anytime he touches the ball. This does give us more options in the draft though so it makes sense.
This is exactly what it is

Dude got benched so many times under Bruce Arians and was an after thought in KC last year. 4th on their depth chart.

Id rather have Zeke at whatever the Cowboys are going to be paying him

Only thing to complain about with this is that, stylistically, he’s a lot closer to a Pollard type than being a hammer. For a one year flyer, it’s worth having him in as competition, and if it doesn’t work out, they can let him go. Works for me.

Just go review your posts and count. it'll be much faster. I don't typically pay attention to your post except you tagged me with some bs. You are welcome to thing RJ is great all you want.

I’m with you on Goodwin. He does that one thing and looked to be slipping last year.

Nope. I just understand roster construction and you are expecting madden trades for studs all over the field.

I know what i post and what I am wrong about, it isn't at all a chronic issue by any stretch.

I will trust will Mclay on this one. If it pans out, good but there is no loss if he doesn't. I have a suggestion, how about we wait and see what happens with the roster before we bash a signing.

Looking more into it, this was a very nice signing.

Younger and more productive than I had thought.

He is a veteran in every sense, but still only 25.

His college numbers were impressive, and probably something along the lines of the exact player we will look to add on Friday in the upcoming draft.

It’s been a good off-season. I’ve really gotta give them that.

But ummm guys….DT?? I’m patient, just don’t forget yet again.

I think the emergence of Pacheco changed all of that. Kid was a steal in the 7th.
True.

Then again, he was #4 among RBs in carries... among those, a 30 year-old who hasn't had much to brag about for a few years.

Doesn't exactly scream, "Overlooked," of course.

This signing isn't the end all to the running back position. Dallas still can make and probably will make moves in the draft, during free agency and probably during the season as well. There is still much to be decided on how that position will be filled out this year.

He should have been their short yardage back, imo.

Looks at the splits for 3 yards and under situations for first downs:

Jones was 3 of 4 with a td.
Pacheco was 15 of 26
McKinnon was 4 of 15
and
Hellaire was 11 of 18.

One broken leg and 3 scrubs.

Time to draft the next Zeke…

Cause we don’t have it.

Meh, I guess he's younger and cheaper than Zeke but he seems slower as well

Jones, Dowdle, Davis, still does not make up the loss for Zeke.
But are a heck of a lot cheaper. So many will be happy. But can they get 12 TD”s.
Unless they do something else at RB, this equates to 3 less wins So far.

Don’t take this so seriously… better say that before any missiles fly. :muttley:
Zeke had a WAR of 3 games?

:)
