Is Robinson that good, or did he benefit from playing next to Aaron Donald?
We have blue chip talent up front too. Ours is just outside but it slides protections and draws doubles just the same. Moreso we have a lot of talent along the DL just not the 325 lbs variety.

He resigned with the Chiefs.

Ooof, well, Hankins and Harris would be nice. Or, I'd love it if we could get Breese from Clemson (3T) and Ika or Mazi Smith in round 2 (NTs). I think that would give us such a powerful interior Dline, and it'd make running on us borderline impossible, which combines nicely with our already deadly pass defence.

I'm not sure what a two down player is worth but the run defense statistics for the Cowboys were night and day when Hankins was in there. The Eagles used a premium first round pick on one last year.

Did he sign or was he just a visit?

But it's hilarious they would consider Robinson when they already have Dexter Lawrence and Leonard Williams. I guess they think DT is important.
I now believe it was a bad rumor. Stupid internet!

I'm not expecting too much more when they either resign Hankins or someone similar. Probably will take another day 3 prospect and don't envision them taking a 3T this year, unless someone falls in their laps.

Hope they are playing it right and can end up with a guy like Ford or Robinson on a cheapish deal (or both) and then can look to the draft to supplement.

I don't care what they claim, their DT situation right now based on who is signed is pathetic for a team that will yell from the mountain tops at anyone who will listen that they are a legit SB contender.
The thing about going the route of the draft is they aren’t gonna tale a 1tech very hugh
Just not enough snaps. But I could see them take a 3rd CJ if someone fell. Ideally a guy who could be solid against run and impact the passing game. The problem is those guys rarely fall. Just too hard to get one
I’d rather sign a vet 1tech myself. Experienced and they look like they could be reasonably priced since no one is jumping on them

I could see that, though, I think if Breese falls to us, he'd be a smart choice.

I'd like both. I think having a combination of those would make our defence even better.
I don’t really understand how they rotate that position, especially in nickel situations, to even guess what body type may be most useful, let alone which player/s.

What I DO know is that we have invested several day two picks recently, and that hasn’t worked. We have signed lower end free agents. That hasn’t worked. The only remaining option would be higher priced free agents, all of whom appear to be gone.

Every team needs to roll the dice or be weak on paper somewhere. Ours always appears to be right up the gut, and it’s far from a secret to the rest of the league.

It’s also very likely a big reason why we are a night and day team with a lead as opposed to behind.

Exactly, and the problem is that we don't have the players to shut down the run efficiently at the Dline. That's why I'm wanting both a NT and a 3T. Having those two can make running the ball on us nearly impossible.

oof or not./. fans in rush they are not

obviously, they will wait until post draft and then choose from what's left. im betting they might be looking for that round 1-3 true 1t/NT , not there they go FA

I'd hope that the FO will be looking for NTs in that range. I'd love so much to have Mazi Smith on our team. He'd make our defence a team that cannot be run on, and he'd apply pressure up the middle to where QBs would run right into the path of Micah Parsons.

Yes, but his injury history scares me a little bit. However, he is a good prospect.
I do understand the concern about the injury history. However, I do think the risk of that is outweighed by his ability as a 3T. I'd happily take him or Mazi in round 1 and, if we go Breese, Siaki Ika in round 2.

That the thing. If they don’t get a top DT in the draft…meaning someone slid to 26 that shouldn’t have, they are going to have to go with the same strategy that hasn’t worked.

I would only consider Mazi/Ika the earliest in rd 2 as they offer zero pass rush abilities.

When I watched his game footage, he looked better than I expect as a pass rusher; However, he was not as strong vs double teams on run plays as I expected.

I think it's possible that Benton will be a better overall player. Can likely play both 3tech and 1tech.
