Exactly. could have shored up our o line and likely STILL could have grabbed this guy in the 3rd. We just spent premium resources on what is likely to be a one contract player. He's almost going to be 30 when his contract is up.
This is fan mock speak.

Personally, I thought the Cowboys were sitting dam good with the two TEs they currently have and after drafting this dude my opinion hasn't changed. I believe this dude is what you call in the dating seen as a THIRD WHEEL..................
Obviously the Cowboys felt different. They most likely felt that since TE is such a huge part of the offense that they wanted to cover themselves. No mention of the fact that two, sometimes three tes will lineup on the field.

I wanted O'Cyrus Torrence but did see a report saying he slipped because several teams have questioned his work ethic and question how coach able he really is about listening.
That and guard only prospects are not valued very much unless they are considered can’t miss. That he wasn’t obviously.

Don't know much about Luke's game but I vaguely remember watching him inthe Michigan State game this past season and he was pretty solid.

I don't see instant impact guy starting his rookie year but more than capable of developing into a nice player just like Schultz.

Not only that but..he's not even good. Lol. I just am praying Mazi turns out to be a truly dominant player. We desperately need him to be with the rest of this class looking booty.

I still don't like this pick.

But I am intrigued by how well he runs. He's got some real explosion.

I just wonder why he wasn't used more. Bad QB? Or is he a bad route runner?

Everyone hates Schoonmaker in the second, because on all of those super early pff mock drafts, he was a guy people was mocking to the Cowboys in the sixth.

Everybody bashing this pick clearly never watched a second of his games... He was an impact player in a top 5 college program. He's a better athelete and blocker than anybody on our roster. He's smart and the right kind of guy. He'll be our best TE and better than Schultz by year 2.

Michigan obviously fudged numbers at his pro day. Nothing about his film screams elite athlete. Darnell Washington's does
Disagree. he's fast. Faster than almost all TE. He gets great separation at the top of routes. He doesn't have wiggle, but not many TE do. And it's weird he doesn't break tackles more. But the tape shows a large human being outrunning smaller ones, a lot

Just question whether or not we needed him with pick 58….
Cowboys use TE's a lot. He was the best blocking one there is. Upgrades running offense and protects Dak.

They took him over a OG. Should tell everyone what they really think of him.

Horrid pick.

Draft picks are commodities. Those trying to rationalize/justify this pick for a 25-26 year old blocking TE is just like spending $90,000 on a Kia Sorento and then arguing “it’s just what I need; reliable transportation.”
They drafted a TE in a spot where they were very likely going to draft a TE. lol No one has to rationalize anything.
