Why are we in a rush to sign Dak?

Listen to the records predicted to the question at 8:42. What would the prediction be if it were another NFL QB that you really trusted? We all know who those QB's are. If we are predicting 1-3 or 2-2, what in the hell does that say about confidence in Dak's ability to go on a playoff run against the better teams? Especially if it's the Wild Card route. I think their answers SPEAK VOLUMES about the actual situation we are in, which is Booger and Chuckles inability to switch gears on the fly. I would call it paralysis by analysis, but that would be incorrect....there is zero analysis going on....only paralysis due to their own lack of confidence in making Howie Roseman type decisions. Signing Dak prior to letting 2023 run its course, would be asinine beyond belief.

Because the faster you do it the cheaper the deal.

I know Dak gifted the 49ers 6 points and the 49ers fumble gave Dallas 6 points so in reality Dak scored 6 points in a dam playoff game. Dak should not of been allowed to be on the team plane home.
How do y’all watch that clip and don’t see the errors aside from qb? Just crazy….literally no one is open.

Who would that be? They don't have a backup on the roster capable of taking over the QB1 role full time. Worst yet is Jerry and Stephen's refusal to look for one.
Notice I didn't speculate on who that might be. I'm just saying they should be doing it. ;)

How can you even build a tram with a 64 million cap hit or even half of that.
....even if Dak's extended we still have to pay him the prorated bonus that's already outstanding....in effect that means we wouldn't have the early cheaper years ala Hurts.
Cutting Dak as a 2024 post-June cut will give us $34M to sign and create a roster around which the rookie QB can develop (ala 2016).

Because he's set to make nearly $60 million next year and cutting him would cost us $62 million.
Which further magnifies what an idiotic contract Jerry and son signed with Dak and agent. They were literally taken behind the wood shed and shown who their Daddy was. Guaranteeing more years of futility as if 27 wasn't enough.

Dak could double his turnovers and Jerry will be first to come out and say he's our QB, we have no thoughts of moving on from him!!

-----I have no problem making Dak play 2023 and determine what he deserves in an extension. I also want to see Dak force his agent to give the Cowboys a discount if an extension is given to Dak. If Dak and his agent refuse to give a discount, definitely draft his replacement early in next year's draft. Tired of overpaying QBs, especially those who hold the team hostage.

Should have drafted Aiden O'Connell in the 4th like Corky wanted to do....for once I agreed with him.
I think Will Grier will surprise many

They'll extend him next offseason, maybe the middle of this year, but there's no reason to do it now and they're not in any sort of rush.

Doing it with a year left on his deal will allow them to drastically drop his cap hit next year.

It'll be something like 4x$55 but his cap hit will be around $25m for the life of it.

If he struggles this year (Interceptions or adjusting to New Offense). . . Will they still resign him?
