Yes, he was one of the early Civil Rights leaders along with other great athletes like Bill Russell , Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Muhammad Ali.

One of the most underrated movies Imo.

A man of considerable talent, drive, and conviction away from the fields of sport.

I had tickets to watch him against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving 1966, but he retired to make the Dirty Dozen.

I was fortunate enough to grow up with him. And saw him play the Cowboys at the Cotton Bowl.

Unfortunately for him playing in the NFL in that era wasn’t as charasmatic as athletics like him now. And why he left he league early.

The legend. It's funny I learned about him the actor and the activist before the athlete. As I became an adult I've heard people say he's one of the best backs of all time. He paved the away for a lot of our athletes out here today. Not just on the field but off it. Lived to be 87 years. REST LEGEND.

The Browns had three of the best RBs ever in succession: Ernie Davis - from Syracuse who died so very early - after his rookie year?. Then Jim Brown then Leroy Kelly right after that. I was lucky to watch Jim Brown and Leroy Kelly a lot - they put the hurt on Coach Landry and us fans. It is hard to express just how dominating the RBs were back then. RIP Jim you lived a great life.
