Wow. What a sad day. Flags should be lowered in his honor. The dude did more for his communities in one day than that one guy who got buried in a gold casket on live TV ever did in his entire life. Unfortunately good guys like him don't get that type of respect. :(

RIP Jim "Jack Trevor" Brown
Yes, he was one of the early Civil Rights leaders along with other great athletes like Bill Russell , Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Muhammad Ali.

Whoa....weird. I was just watching ice station zebra this morning. He died in the movie.
One of the most underrated movies Imo.
Rock Hudson, Patrick Mcgoohan, the iconic Ernest Borgnine
It was his 5th credited film at the time -- Brown held his own
A man of considerable talent, drive, and conviction away from the fields of sport.

May not be a popular opinion here but I think he was the greatest RB ever. He was a man among boys.
As far as I’m concerned, no one will ever surpass Walter. Sweetness, but I totally agree with you. RIP

He was the lead actor in “100 Rifles” and he got to get all up in Raquel Welch in that movie , but I thought he was damn good in “ I’m Gonna Git You Sucka” too

He probably excelled in everything he tried……just that kinda guy

STIRRING PHOTOGRAPH -- ICONIC MOMENT
I was fortunate enough to grow up with him. And saw him play the Cowboys at the Cotton Bowl.

Unfortunately for him playing in the NFL in that era wasn’t as charasmatic as athletics like him now. And why he left he league early.

The legend. It's funny I learned about him the actor and the activist before the athlete. As I became an adult I've heard people say he's one of the best backs of all time. He paved the away for a lot of our athletes out here today. Not just on the field but off it. Lived to be 87 years. REST LEGEND.

The Browns had three of the best RBs ever in succession: Ernie Davis - from Syracuse who died so very early - after his rookie year?. Then Jim Brown then Leroy Kelly right after that. I was lucky to watch Jim Brown and Leroy Kelly a lot - they put the hurt on Coach Landry and us fans. It is hard to express just how dominating the RBs were back then. RIP Jim you lived a great life.
