Mike McCarthy is making new playbook Dak inclusive and friendly

With Dak being given a big say about the new playbook, is that a good or bad idea?

The problem is that even if Dallas does win the Super Bowl, you'll say it was because of his supporting cast and then reiterate that they should not extend him to continue building the supporting cast. It doesn't matter how he performs to you lol
Are you new here? Do you know me at all?

So the offense will be dumbed down and simple for Dak to grasp.....
Do you stay up late at night thinking of the worst takes to make?

There has never been anything simple about takes offense other than the scheme and play caller.

I’m not saying “I know” what they’re going to do.

I’m talking about what they can do.

If Dak comes up short again this year, the dumbest thing they could do would be to get in deeper and extend him.
Sort of like how they kept going with Jason Garrett trying to make him the next Tom Landry. After so many years you know what you got.

Well enough. You'll never admit you're wrong. Every "you can't win with Dak" person formed an opinion on him in 2017, believes QB wins is a stat that matters, and refuses to admit that they were wrong independent of any statistic.

Next it is "well he's been here 8 years and hasn't won anything," and then "sorry I'm sick of 27 years of not winning."

It's the same script every time lol

Don’t make sweeping generalizations. Least of all with me. I’ve been a staunch supporter of Prescott for years. But there comes a point where it’s put up or shut up. Earn that huge payday or not. And I’ve reached it.

But if he wins a Super Bowl? Back up the money truck! He will have earned it!

Nah. You are not a "staunch supporter" of a player if it means cut them or give them, effectively, a lifetime contract based on whether or not they win the Super Bowl. If you aren't willing to extend him right now, then you should be trying to trade him right now.

If you don't extend him after this year and you win a SB right before he comes a UFA, he names his price. Not extending him at some point before next season is the worst decision they could make.

No.

Extending a guy who’s proven he can’t win is the worst thing they can do.

Jason Garrett all over again.

Beyond dumb.

When did suggesting a player actually earn his paycheck become unreasonable?

When you decided the only way to earn it is to win a Super bowl.

Im not worried about what anyone says or has said if the Cowboys ever win another SB.

I’ll settle for an NFC Championship Game appearance. How’s that?
It's just as unreasonable.

By your logic, if Dak goes 40-40 for 500 yards and 5 TDs but the Cowboys lose in the Wild Card, he would not deserve an extension lol

Is that what you’re forced to resort to now? Strawman arguments?

Well, that is why they play the game, not to just rack up stats that don't mean a thing. It's been 8 years with Dak, tell me why they should give him 5-6 more years? The great Parcells said you should know what QB you have after just three years, yet, well, here we are.

You're right, the Colts should never have given Peyton Manning year 9. Drew Brees, definitely should have been cut halfway through his contract with the Saints.

It's not a strawman, it is the exact logic you're using. You want to draw hard lines, then fine, but that's why they are ridiculous.
