Someone said that this is Embarrassing! If this is embarrassing to you then you really don’t have much going on. This is like literally the last thing that I think of every day, actually I don’t think of it at all. If anything put Barry in the ROH, he was much more entertaining! When you have an out of control employee who causes dissension and mutiny amongst the troops that employee usually does not get invited back for the company picnic. Let it go, you’ll feel better…
Out of control employee?? LOL

Jimmy will only go into the ROH if Stephen puts him there after Jerry departs for places unknown. That's just the facts!

Man, some people act like they think Jimmy just coached here out of an altruistic love of the fans. Jimmy got his, then left, exactly when he wanted to. If Jerry puts him in the RoH, great. If not, I couldn't care much less than I do now.

It does make Jerry look petty, but bending to the will of the fans would make him look weak, so it's a lose/lose proposition for him at this point.

BTW…I do happen to love Jimmy! Was so excited when there were rumors back in the day that he would be the next coach. Was the best move that could ever have happened, just loved his bad azz attitude, it was exactly what we needed.

LOL at looking weak. That’s a pretty weak excuse for as to why he hasn’t done it.

He’s being a d-bag. That’s it. That’s the reason. Nothing else.

This may be one of the all-time hottest topics on the forum; and it's become clear that inducting Jimmy to the ROH is just not a Jerry Jones priority.

We can debate and hash the "whys and why nots" of this forever. e.g. "Jerry should" "Jerry shouldn't" "It doesn't matter".

I do have one wish for training camp next month. That at Jerry's TC briefing, some reporter (that Jerry respects) simply asks, "Why won't you name your friend Jimmy Johnson to the Ring of Honor?" Jerry may demur, or change the subject. And he may smile and say, "Well, er, I plan to some day."
I have no expectations either way.

Calling Jerry inappropriate with flippancy of what already was stated and by myself as to the ethics involved...not name calling.
Not quite the same……it’s been over 20 years and he’s still holding him back out of jealously and childishness, he doesn’t deserve a gentle calling out like ur asking. Can’t be gentle with people THAT arrogant, it never sticks.

Taking time to write this out sure doesn't hold up the claim of "couldn't care less".

Also, Jerry looks weak and pathetic now for letting his ego get the better of him on this matter.

Smart guy, you know what TIME is?

It's NOTHING but a sequence of events. The cowboys are good here and now. Take that hand full of excuses and belly ache to the john to flush.

Start paying to the here and now, The team is good and many fans are tired of those with a continual belly ache they justify themselves. Take some Mylanta or start rooting for all of our's team - the Dallas
Cowboys.

I don't know the last time a Cowboy fan needed to go on a snipe hunt?

My typing this out has nothing to do with caring about what happens with Jerry and Jimmy. It's a response to how carried away some people here get over the situation.

I doubt most of the people really care about Jimmy getting his name put up in the RoH. It's probably just one more thing to ride Jerry about.

I'm sure Jerry's ego is most of the reason it hasn't happened, but Jimmy's ego is a large part of the reason he didn't stick around.

It is not Jerry being alive. It is that Jerry wants to have a Super Bowl or at least a Super Bowl appearance before inducting Jimmy so that Jerry can say he has actually done something since Jimmy.
well imo that doesnt factor in, jerry just hates jimmy.
2 reasons,
jimmy left and would not come back after they had the tiff
jimmy got all the credit for building the team and winning the 2 SB's, and even the one after in 96, most said that was jimmys team.

Yes but the reason that Jerry said he would put him in but has not is because of ego. Jerry probably thought the Cowboys would have won something by now but he cant put Jimmy in until they do or it highlights who was really behind those teams.

If I was Jimmy, I would just publicly say that the time for induction has passed. Basically, if I'm not wanted, I don't want to be there.

I like it. It shows pathetic Jerry for what is his. A sad little drunken turd. Jimmy is a god among men and Jerry knows he can never hope to achieve that status.

It would be hard to make this point stick, the problem is Jerry has more of everything over Jimmy... more power over many more men, more trophies, more status..literally more everything than Jimmy... I dont disagree with the pettiness aspect but I dont think its jealousy as much as a pure power move to remind Jimmy that he is still in control of everything Jimmy/Cowboys related...I find it hard to fathem Jerry finds jealousy anywhere to be honest.
