So basically he said yes I think Lance would be a benefit to the team and Jerry and Stephen went and did the trade negotiations.

How is that not standard business practice? Or do we all think coaches sit back and negotiate trades?

He was involved. He said it clearly. He gave is input and then Jerry makes the final decision and works out the deal.

The owner/GM usually makes the decision. The HC works with what he’s given. Sounds fairly normal to me. I don’t care for Jerry as a GM, but the boss buys the groceries, the coach is the cook. Everyone overreacts when Dallas does it.

Jerry did a good job and got the trade done quickly. He could have lost Lance to another team if he dragged his feet. He didn't care abut the 4th round pick which could be the last pick in the round.
