13. Dak Prescott - Year 8

Cowboys fans were chirping in my mentions all weekend about how unfairly I'd treated their quarterback, and for a moment, I thought they might be right. Were Jared Goff and Geno Smith really better than Prescott through two weeks? Well, they certainly were in Week 3. At face value, Prescott's numbers were still pretty solid, but Dallas failed to piece together enough positive plays to keep up with Arizona's surprisingly productive offense. The Cowboys failed to convert on the doorstep of the end zone, turning it over on downs on fourth-and-3 from the Cardinals’ 4 because Jake Ferguson and CeeDee Lamb couldn't get open in the end zone, and safety K'Von Wallace eliminated Prescott's chance of scrambling for a touchdown. Then they failed to score a touchdown again in the red zone, settling for a field goal to briefly cut Arizona’s lead to 21-16. And finally, with Dallas desperately needing a touchdown, the Cowboys' star quarterback threw an ugly end-zone interception on a pass tossed directly to Kyzir White, the underneath defender in triple coverage. White might have been able to make that interception with his eyes closed. Prescott played well between the 20s, but Dallas' struggles in the red zone directly contributed to their loss -- and in those moments, that's where the quarterback needs to be the star.

Still three days before the game...so this thread could reach 8-10 pages

One of the things I have been complaining about is the lack of metrics on the success rate of critical plays in critical situations.

I am thinking of 3rd down conversions while behind.

Plays run under the three minute mark.

Redzone conversions by play. Not just redzone conversions. So seeing the QB's success rate in pass plays in goal line situations.

I would be interested to see how the entire league's QBs all rank based on some of those metrics. Do they exist?

It’s current, and so far after the first 3 games Tua has had a better season. He’s completed 71.3% for 1024 yards and 8 TDs. Mahomes has completed 65.5% for 803 yards and 7 TDs.
But Noone really thinks Tua is better

Of course not, and no one is saying he is, but after three games he’s had a better season. The Tyreek Hill trade has really turned his career around. He wasn’t very impressive his first couple of seasons until Miami added all that speed.

He also had a coach that didn’t want him in Flores. His weapons before Waddle and then Hill were meh too, no run game and OL

The speed weapons have changed everything for Tua. I thought Miami overpaid for Tyreek Hill with all the draft picks they gave up, but he’s been everything they could’ve ever asked for. He’s the most electrifying WR in the league. KC might be unbeatable had they kept him.

Dak is going to be Dak. Everybody should be used to it including the coaches-Jerry and fans. He got us 16 point's -the Bengals won against the Rams with 18. And because of their defense playing great. Our defense didn't take the day off. We would of won also. Guess ole Mike give days off through the week so why not doing the games???

Actually they do. Prescott ranks 19th.

Year 8, 40 mil QB ranked at 13 is just pathetic. I can’t believe he doesn’t try to pride himself into being better. I guess you can only get so far before you reach your limit.
What's pathetic is thinking some QB ranking system written by some guy named Nick Shook is validation of a player's actual value.

Of course if it fits the agenda, writers like this will have a certain group here eating out of their hands.
