How did that Georgia draft work out for Philly?

Hey, if you want to use some metrics that rate him well below Odighizuwa (who they also rate right next to Aaron Donald), you do you. If the same measurements show Justin Madubuike, who had at least half a sack in an astonishing 13 out of 17 games (including 11 in a row) as far inferior to Maliek Collins and Adam Butler, even more of a testimonial.
Sacks are just about the worst stat to measure passrush productivity. It's also not a perfect chart, because it doesn't account well for sample size.

But you're way off your point, which is that Carter isn't in the same "paragraph." It's a dumb thing to say.

Nope.

Carter has been a disappointment in Philly thus far.

And Mazi wasn't a first-round pick. The first round effectively ends between pick 15-20, then the talent left is pretty much all the same through the early part of the 3rd round.

Our draft really hasn't panned out yet, but Overshown was hurt in preseason, and the roster is pretty complete already. Need to shore up linebacker and nose tackle still.
oh good god
Now the mazi minions claim he was not a first rd pick
Sorry dude that does not wash

sacks are not everything but to try and dismiss them smells of the so called analytic holy commandments that never get it right because they only know numbers and nothing else

Do the Cowboys have anyone on their roster from Alabama or Georgia? I don't think they do but I could be wrong.

Idk what you're actually trying to say

But pressure rate is far more indicative of how a passrusher is playing than sacks.

They wrote a paragraph about the Pro Bowl selections. Find me the sentence with Jalen Carter.

They wrote a bunch of paragraphs in this article. Find me the sentence with Jalen Carter:
https://www.foxsports.com/stories/n...n-donald-chris-jones-atop-elite-dts-in-top-10

He's tied for third in tackles ON HIS TEAM for his position. He's 70 tackles behind Derrick Brown. He's around 30th in the league at the DT postion for combined tackles. He's 22nd in missed tackle percentage for the DT position. I'm only including people strictly listed as DT, not "DL" where the player played inside and out. If you think he's better at the position (maybe you write really long paragraphs) than the guys I listed, in addition to Derrick Brown, Jeffrey Simmons, Zach Sieler, Deron Payne, Johnathan Allen, Christian Wilkins, Ed Oliver and DeForest Buckner, we can agree to disagree. He certainly looks like he has potential. I did say that he was one of the top rookies at the position, but I could also see a regression when Philly loses a lot of veteran leadership on the DL in the upcoming offseason. If you exclude Linval Joseph and Ndamukong Suh (1.5 sacks combined) from the Philly 2022 DL which had 70 sacks, this year's DL that had a primary change of Jalen Carter in for Javon Hargrave, dropped from a league leading 70 sacks to 43. They had a terrible 13 sacks in the last 8 weeks. I know there are a lot of variables, but there's a massive drop off from 2022 to 2023 on the DL. Maybe it was all Gannon.

Draft day the eagles picked up a few Georgia players, which left some of us shaking our head, and maybe a bit worried. Looking at how their season went, the only player that really did anything was Carter. Smith did nothing, Davis was sloppy and useless. Makes you want to laugh even harder at them, please give your thoughts
Hindsight and on paper, we were impressed with the Eagles draft becuz of all the noted highly regarded names.

Still too early for Jalen Carter, it's a rookie wall with certain players out of the block, but have to see how they perform down the stretch as they develop.

Too often fans think every top player has to be Myles Garrett year1, game 1.

Sometimes same with DTs, ..i didn't know what to think of Bills Ed Oliver before this season, and after just one solid year, but he's making more plays from the interior - maybe some players need more time to develop or a better coach to help them develop.

Hey if our fans can bash and rule out Mazi in his first season, we can surely do it to the enemies players!!!
Sure ……but Carter will be the defensive rookie of the year. Nolan Smith was a head scratcher bc he didn’t do much in college. He was a highly rated player coming out of high school who could not stay healthy. I think he had surgery on both knees. Davis is kinda baffling. He should be a lot better than he’s playing. Rumor is that he’s out of shape. Nakobe Dean has foot issues. He had 30 tackles in his 3 starts before the foot issues.

Yea I don't care.

Is he an excellent passrusher? Yes. All that matters.

This what happens to some teams that have success in the NFL, they lose their best teachers and suffer for it.

Carter has been very good but he’s worn down.
Davis started out strong but he’s also slowed down quite a bit the last month, I question his conditioning since this isn’t his rookie year. He’s been fine but they value vs draft position isn’t there.
Smith hasn‘t gotten much run. Certainly not the impact you’d want from a first round pick.
Keelee Ringo has played well and may be a starter next year.
Nakobe Dean can’t stay healthy and isn’t all that good when he is.

Their draft sucked. I told yall Howie was overrated and I had Cowboy fans of all people arguing me down about it smh…..

Jalen Carter will be good. I don’t know his ceiling as of now. I was thinking superstar but now I’m holding off on that opinion.

Draft was actually pretty good. They got 3 starters Carter, Brown and Ringo and a guy that will push to start next year, Steen, depending on retirements.
