I mean isn't that what you should do? If he plays well he should get his proper respect. If he plays poorly he should be held accountable for it.
Maybe, but who is "this certain group of fanbase". You make an accusation about a group, define that group, because I know your game, royace.

Not even close. That first poll, if I remember correctly, was something like 85% no to 15% yes. The next time Dallas won it flip flopped a great deal. People were voting simply on their week-to-week emotions. I voted no then, and I voted no every other time after that. He needs to prove he can get the job done in the post season, only then will I consider changing my vote.

Some want to say Dak is having the best year of his career. The truth is he had a better season in 2019 yardage wise. Yes, he's thrown more TD's this season, but 2023 is in no way his best year.
I worded that wrong what I meant to say I'm sure there was a lot less Yes's then there is today. It was like 5% yes and rightfully so it was after a poor performance and with a crappy offense.

My argument for this being Dak's best year is he did it with less talent. He did it with no run game, suspect offensive line at times.....

IN 2019, Gallup and Amari both had 1k yards and both were LEGIT. Randall Cobb had 828 yards and probably too could've had more if not for a few drops. Real close to having 3 1k receivers that year.

And oh yeah Zeke was 4th in the league in rushing. Still in his prime.

Less weapons in 2023. Lamb playing at a high level no doubt....1st team all pro level.

Ferg having a solid year.

Cooks started off slow now things are going.

That's pretty much it.
The only for sure Eagle fan I know in this poll is @Aerolithe_Lion , but he voted "yes" in latest poll.

Thoughts?
If you believe that's the only "Eagle fan" up there then you need to revisit some things.

Mac has been here for 4 years and gotten us to
the playoffs 3x. He also has shown he is capable of leading a team to a Super Bowl w the right QB. If he fails again this year and is brought back, you said you would change your mind on him.

So next year, if we are winning 12 games you (if you are a sane individual) would not be happy w the head coach until you see what he does in the playoffs.

Thats where us “haters” are with Dak. This is year 8. If he were in year 4 and won 12 games 3x in a row, many of us would be happy w him
Dak controls what the offense does on the field within his sphere of influence.

Mac controls the whole team in every aspect. If Mac flames out in the first round or we lose in the 2nd due to so blunder of his clock management, yes, I will call for his head and replace him with Bill Belichek.

You will say something similar about Dak but there is no getting out of Dak and there is no 6 time super bowl winning QB that will be available.

That's not the goal. All it does is help fill seats and sell merch.
It does help that but that is no reason to not be happy with him as the QB. He is playing the position at an elite level.

This is a TEAM game, not the boring "QB is responsible for all the wins and losses."

The 'No' group is usually full of members simply wanting
to advance further than last season. Nearly all of them
actually make that statement.
Nearly all of them think the QB is the only one on the field....apparently.

I already stated the group lol. It's clear what the group is.
Oh, you think some posters don't care for Dak because "he took Romo's job"? Is that it? He did not take nothing, he was giving the job away from Romo by either Garrett or JJ. This crap that Dak took Romo's job is that same crap that Dak made Brady retire. If that is your and others stance, that tells the story. And, then there are the "stats" lovers.

If Dak goes out there and throws 4ints and cant score on one of the worst defenses in the league, im sorry but that shouldnt be on mccarthy.

Now if McCarthy goes out there and has clock management issues and the team continues to get penalty after penalty, then yeah thats on him

There's a reason the QBs make the most money.
The outcome usually lies in their hands.

Look no further than the Bills/Dolphins game.
Josh Allen is a sloppy QB who is a turnover machine.
But they won, in spite of him, some could say, and
who gets the credit, the interview, etc. Not the kid
with the 95 yard punt return. Nope. It's always the QB.
Like it, or not, it's been that way for decades.

The actual answer to this is that it is incredibly stupid to change your opinion about anything based upon a single game sample size.
It wouldnt be a single game sample size.

It would be the second loss in the wild card round after going 8-0 in the regular season

He did take his job....I mean initially it was given to him but when it was time for Romo to come back he couldn't get his job back. Hence, he took it....it helped that Romo's body was broken down sure but he took his job...

Yup...case and point why I would never give the QB all the credit win or lose.

Sometimes, it works out where the QB was the difference. Sometimes it works out that they were the reason for the loss.

It isn't absolute.

Romo was not giving the chance to win his job back by either Garrett or JJ. Get that through your thick head. Romo took the team down the field at the eagles when they gave him a series and went straight for a TD. And, then we have yoyo's on here saying, well, Romo would have gotten hurt again anyways. How would someone know that? How would I know that you are going to get hit by a car tomorrow and die? That is pure speculation crap because it cannot be proven that he would have gotten hurt again or that you will die getting hit by a car. Romo gave the team the best chance that year and it's been down fall after down fall for eight years with Dak.

However, all that is revisionist history, Dak is the QB today and doing damn good, so I hope we all can root for him and the team.

Romo was hurt damn near every year after 30....it's safe to say he probably would've gotten hurt again. HE got hurt because of a routine tackle preseason....

I believe this team looked at Romo and looked Dak and decided to stick with Dak because at the time he was a better player. Maybe not a better thrower of the football but a better player. They didn't have to worry about the injury risk or lack of mobility.

Yes, because anyone who doesn't see things the exact same way you do when it comes to Dak, likely isn't a Cowboys fan.
Makes sense. :muttley:
See y'all dismiss what I say by regurgitating the same comment over and over. "Oh because no one doesn't see Dak the same way you do...."....that's never been my stance. I'm not a child. I disagree with people on this site. All I ever ask is just back your claim up because I will do the same. I personally don't respect posters who can't. Just make the generic "Dak sucks" posts. It's fine if that's their MO. I mean nowadays the only time you even see these guys now is these polls. The anti Dak crowd is rather silent and that says it all.
