Could teams be holding Micah on purpose?

...I bet this changes now. Thanks to Blandino bringing it out.

I say, Micah gets 2 calls this game.

I think the Pack will push the limits early to demonstrate how they plan on handling (holding) Micah for 4 quarters.

If it ain’t called early…it ain’t gettin’ called!

And some say it all balances out. How? We're not allowed to do the same.
Really they are though. The Cowboys have 25 holding penalties on the year (accepted penalties against the Cowboys). The vast majority of them are coming on run plays and special teams. I really don't think the league is targeting the Cowboys pass rush to not throw the flag, they simply are not calling holding penalties league wide in order to (I would assume) protect the QBs. We see more holding calls on run plays by a heavy majority, in the Cowboys case it's almost 80% of the time.

If the Cowboys Oline isn't being told to push the rules on a pass rush that's a failure of our coaching staff. Micah Parsons is the most obvious victim of how they are calling the games, but Myles Garrett, TJ Watt, etc. are all frustrated by the lack of calls they are getting.

Of course, if you're not being called for it.

I like how that still shot was actually not a hold when you run the video. And Micah posted it on his social media to boot.

As for on purpose, it's in the rules that holding chances could be exempted during a double team. So I'd double team him all game if I was an offense.
Lol man even Blandino says they're holding him. You don't need to keep carrying their water.

yes. To keep him from the qb. Doesn’t hurt when refs don’t call it either.

Instruct the line that if you're losing, hold on every 7 step drop. Even if they call it on 2 of 20 plays, you lost 10 yards. But if you connect on a big play elsewhere you will make those yards up.

The following comment is sarcasm, please read it as such...

The referees aren't seeing it so teams must not be holding Micah at all. And obviously, accidental holding isn't a flag anyway. :muttley:

Of course. ITs smart. If they aren't going to call it why not? I mean honestly? How many times do refs even call holding? Probably in your best interest to do it regardless of who's in front of you if they aren't going to call it.

At what point is JJ, MM and Quinn going to take one for the wallet and start barking loud about the abuse Parsons is taking week out and week in?????? These three need to be holding separate weekly press meeting that are just about the ridiculous no calls against Parsons. There is plenty of evidence that would call the NFL out for the number of blatant NO CALLS against Parsons. It's becoming a running joke week out and week in about how Parsons is getting mugged and there are NEVER EVER penalties called against the O-Linemen who are BREAKING NFL RULES! Start showing posters of these no calls...................

The only thing casual fans hate more than a low scoring defensive game is a flag fest. So, there isn't much incentive for the NFL to press for more penalties, unless it's to protect their precious QBs.

Wont happen because they don't want to open up that can of worms. They start calling holding for Parsons the refs are going to start calling the holding on the Cowboys oline too. It sucks for these EDGE players, but it really seems like the NFL has sort of quietly agreed that they'd rather not get a few calls in their favor to not get the calls on offense in their detriment and keep their QBs as clean as possible.
