So far we have 43 fans that aren’t happy with a QB that’s led us to 3 straight 12-5 playoff seasons and who led the league in TD passes AND will do no worse than second or third in the MVP voting. This is the QB some fans aren’t happy with.
12-5 seasons isn't the goal. Led the league in TD's isn't the goal. Win the MVP if you want. That isn't the goal.

In 8 years of trying he hasn't ever achieved the goal. He hasn't come close. Now this org wants to give him $55M-60M a year???

This is the QB some fans are happy with. I guess always coming up short works for some. Not me.

Can’t understand why you’re one of those that isn’t happy with him. He’s played terrific this season. To reach the ultimate goal you need a QB who can win consistently during the regular season or you’ll be sitting home for the playoffs every year. You need a QB who’s productive and puts points on the board. No team in the entire league scored more points than the Cowboys this season and a big part of that was because our QB led the league in TD passes. We had a top five offense despite OL issues and not having a consistent running game because of our QB. The Cowboys have only had 2 QBs in franchise history lead them to championships and those QBs had GREAT teams they didn’t have to carry.

In 8 years Dak has won more division titles than Romo did in 10 years. He’s just led the Cowboys to the playoffs for the third straight season and no Cowboys QB has done that since Troy Aikman in the 90s. Do you honestly believe it’s been entirely Dak’s fault that the Cowboys haven’t made a deep playoff run? Do you think all the Cowboys have to do is get another QB and Super Bowl here they come? If anyone thinks it’s going to be easy improving on Dak and he’s one holding us back is kidding themselves. Let’s say you’re in charge of the team. What’s your plan at QB going forward after this season?

Get another QB and lets see what he can do. I'm not convinced Dak can win a super bowl. This is year 8. How many more chances are we going to give him? Only now, we are going to back up the Brinks truck at his front door and handicap the team. You think that makes the team better or worse? Could a new QB get us to the goal? No one knows. But at least the Cowboys could get some pieces to help with the money they save.

If the Cowboys draft a QB who goes 8-8, are we better or worse off than we are now? The answer is better because we don't have Dak's big new deal. I would have done something a long time ago. By waiting, the Cowboys kept making things worse for themselves. Tagging Dak was beyond stupid. Now look where we are.

That isn't the goal. All he has done this year is incease tv ratings and sell march. I want a Lombardi not a new baseball cap.

What the heck does Romo have to do with anything?
You obviously don’t want to answer the question. Most who aren’t happy with Dak won’t answer because they don’t have a good answer. The few who have answered say they would rather take their chances in the draft. As for why I mentioned Romo it was the same situation with him. He had been our QB for 10 years and we weren’t getting anywhere. Was it entirely his fault? He was one of the better QBs in the league who gave us a chance. Were you also unhappy with him as our QB? You seem to think the QB position is holding us back. I can assure you that hasn’t been the problem.

I answered the question.

Why do you keep bringing up Romo? He has nothing to do with this thread or anything I said.
Just saw the post. I told you why I brought up Romo because it was a similar situation. We had him for 10 years and won nothing with him. Just like with Dak we never got past the divisional round. Even Dak and Romo’s playoff record is identical.

If you just move on to another QB to see what they can do, we may be playing musical chairs at QB for the next several years or longer. You can’t just play a game of eeny meeny miny moe every few weeks and see what the next QB can do. You don’t move on from your QB until you have a better option. How do you think the players would feel about moving on from Dak? That entire locker room supports him. He’s our leader! Moving on from him could affect the entire mindset of the players. If you bring in a lesser QB that we struggle with you could lose the team. CeeDee has developed great chemistry with Dak. They’ve become a lethal combo. CeeDee will be up for a huge contract. If you pay him and you don’t have a QB that he has faith in and can’t produce with, he’ll never be able to live up to his contract. The entire team has to have faith in the QB to be successful.

If you don’t have the right QB, you’re in serious trouble. If we draft a QB and go 8-8 we’ll be a lot worse off than we are right now because we’ll be sitting home for the playoffs and have no chance. You don’t think that’s worse than being 12-5 and the number two seed? With your plan we’ll be throwing away premium draft picks every 2 to 3 years or bringing in veteran castoffs trying to find a QB. You have to pay a good QB these days that’s just the way it is in the NFL. If you think you can get by with an average low priced QB and try and build a great team around them, you’re just kidding yourself. Every great team starts with their QB. You can’t go cheap at that position and expect to win. Practically every big game, especially in January comes down to the QB and if you don’t have a real good one you’re done!

I'm just happy that D4K is getting better. He's had probably the best season of his career. He'll get some votes for MVP and I hope we get to the NFCCG and win it to go to the Super Bowl finally. I'm a Dallas fan and root for the players on our team. Simple as that. I'm more than happy that he's our QB1. Go Cowboys!

It’s almost like some would rather lose with another QB and look forward to high draft picks every April, than to win with Dak and have a chance every January.
I have a strong suspicion that they would eventually latch onto the next punching bag.

That is all the Cowboys have been doing post Aikman. The difference now is they are going to massively overpay Dak and hinder the team. If he doesn't win a super bowl, was it worth it?

You must think that can happen. I don't. I've love to be proven wrong.

He gets to the Superbowl, my vote will change. He's got the team for it, but all too often he fails to show up when it matters. You may not like it, but that's just how it is. I have nothing against Dak, but watching him only ball out against bottom of the barrel teams does nothing for me.
