Twitter: Remaining quarterbacks in the playoffs were 1st round picks except Brock Purdy

And that's the problem with Dallas. We're always the bridesmaid not the bride. The bridesmaid doesn't give you the opportunity to get a top quarterback...

Dak outperformed all expectations of a 4th round pick.

However, Dak does not outperform all expectations of a QB who stays with one team for over a decade. Most teams would have moved on already.

Next off season it will be that the 1st round pick wasn't early enough. Or any number of convenient excuses.

What's really shocking is he set a Cowboys record for yards passing in a playoff game.
The previous mark of 380 something was in a sterling NFC Championship game from Aikman have 2 tds and 3 picks. I used to think it was a valiant effort but today's standards are it is garbage time.

Surely even Jerry is not delusional enough to think we're going to win a Super Bowl with Dak Prescott a 4th round pick after proving over and over he isn't capable and then suddenly in his 30's he becomes capable. The whole notion is ridiculous.

Jerry has to always do it his way.
And it’s why the Bar has been lowered this era under Jethro. Winning SB’s isn’t the priority unless he’s involved.

The Cowboys are not the same championship caliber franchise we were . Only in name !!

Fans need to adjust their expectations accordingly.

Tom Brady won how many championships as a 6th round pick?

Obviously, more talented QBs tend to get drafted early. But when you are on the field and playing, a QB's draft status doesn't mean anything.

How many first round picks at QB are not in the playoffs? People seem to forget that mosst 1st round picks fail. Trevor Lawrence was supposed to be the best QB prospect coming out of college in years. Jacksonville did not make the playoffs.

Yes, QBs are important. But it takes more than that to win a super bowl including a lot of good fortune.

Again, I am not arguing Dak is great, but he is good enough if the rest of the team was better. It is hard to ignore all those GB receivers running wide open downfield for easy chunk plays. And look at the throws Love made. They weren't exactly dimes. He threw balls up for grabs that might have been knocked down or intercepted is a defender had anywhere near the receiver when the ball was thrown. Championship teams do not make mental errors that big in big games, and that has nothing to do with what round Dak was drafted in.

Did't say that.
How many first round picks did not go to superbowls?
The bigger argument is what percentage of Super Bowls are won by 1st round picks .

If you’re looking for exceptions there are several but I’d prefer to go with higher odds.

Ok, more first-round QBs from those draft classes missed the playoffs (or are out of the league entirely) than made it.

No doubt less than Elite or 1st round picks can win a SB with a complete team. But the odds are greater with one.

Plus who truly believes our front office can build such a team? I’m not ever sure they could build one with an Elite QB. Lol

What Cowboy fans wouldn’t rather have some of the 1st round QB’s like Mahomes, Burrows, Wilson, Jackson, etc to build around?

It doesn’t guarantee anything , just makes it easier to build around .

While technically true, two of those guys (drafted first overall) were dismissed and left for dead and have resurrected their careers with second or third teams.

Somebody has to win the lottery. Unfortunately, you cannot plan to win the lottery, and trying to do so is doomed.
there have been 69 first round QB selections since 2000.
How many have led their teams to superbowl wins?
Superbowls?
Had remote success?

BTW, we have a first rounder on our team.

Bro, the score was 48-22 with 6 minutes left and Packers backups in. That was not a valiant effort
