Good DC because of what? 1 year of an already top defense? Overboard you go.

I'm kind of hoping for a "thinking outside of the box" choice for DC. He would be young, innovative, under the radar. He could be some college guy or some assistant that's on his way up. Perhaps it's a guy most might think is not ready yet, However, the Cowboys are willing to let him grow with experience.

Promotion from within? Which squad seems to have really stood out over the past few years? Would the Cowboys take a chance on Durde or Harris? Just thinking out loud, I haven't really thought about it until just now. It would be very risky.

To the chagrin of many, I believe, Rivera's no slouch when you compare numbers.

But as said a half-hour ago, my money would be on Zimmer.

That would be nice but there are two reasons why you cant
1) You have a HC in his final year of contract
2) You need an experienced DC that can come in right away with a minimal curve

If you hire a young guy then you could have growing pains

Front office and HC probably think getting an experienced guy could be the best option
