Bought his jersey immediately after he led us to a win vs the 49ers in 2001.

That was the highlight of the 2001 season... revenge for T.O. running to the star in 2000.

I still have the jersey somewhere. Cautionary tale for getting too excited about a player too quickly.

I liked Quincy. He had moments of brilliance, but he never could take that next step. Just way too inconsistent, and threw some of the ugliest completions I believe I've ever seen. The guys that followed him up were awful. Hutch, Stoerner, Wright, Henson, etc were some of the worst QBs to start NFL games. Not sure what spurred the MLB to Cowboys starting QB movement but I hope we never see it again.
Blue-eyes and blond hair…. Dreamy like Aikman to both Jerry and Father Garrett…

Not going to lie, if Quincy Carter hadn't done weed, we would have done better than 6-10 that year.

I believe head the tools needed to be an elite QB. But often times, the toolbox is more important. See JaMarcus Russell compared to Tom Brady.

The only NFL QB I can recall that couldn’t throw a spiral.

Parcells absolutely WILLED that garbage roster into the playoffs.

Yeah Jerry, coaching just might matter but you know better now that you’ve got your landmark.

One month after we drafted him, I ran into a group of friends of a friend that were UG alums when he was there.

I asked them about Carter because the pick was a major reach yet Jerry actually traded up for him. The reply…

“He needs to stop having babies and lay off the nose candy and he can be ok.”

Found that to be interesting. A few picks later Jerry takes a safety that couldn’t run.

What a football man!!

Guy I worked with's neighbor used to sell to QC while he was our QB. I imagine he wasn't the only one, that dude smoked so much it makes my eyes glossy.

Quincy Carter was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft and named the starting quarterback for the Cowboys in 2001, becoming the first rookie quarterback to start for the team since Troy Aikman in 1989.

Led the Cowboys to a 5-1 record in his first six starts, including a 9-7 victory over the Washington Football Team and threw for a career-high 349 yards and 4 touchdowns in a game against the San Francisco 49ers in 2003.

Finished his career with the Cowboys with 3,302 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions. Helped the Cowboys reach the playoffs in 2003, where they lost to the Carolina Panthers in the Wild Card round.

We speak your name Quincy!
Thank you Mama Carter,
