I wonder if this is Jerry/Stephen’s response to CD when he was a guest on Micah’s podcast and said he’s going to get as much as he can in his next contract.

I don’t know I’m just speculating. But CD used the media to say he wants a lot and now Jerry is using the media to answer him. I get frustrated with how dysfunctional our team is and this is a prime example.

Last season was pretty much Dak to CeeDee. We would have practically nothing at WR without him, to go along with nothing at RB. Trading him would be doing everything possible to assure the 2024 goes in the toilet. Trading him isn’t even a possibility.
Yeah you also told us Dak not getting an extension wasn’t possible. And here we are

Now I’m not saying we will trade lamb..but the level of ineptitude of this franchise knows no bounds

So you aren’t paying anybody in free agency, but drafting them in rookie contracts.. so how exactly is signing Lamb going to prevent getting those 4-5 players?

Every year stare down Dak is saved by his WR. The same thing happened with Cooper in 2018 that happened with Lamb this year. Throw to your elite WR on the first progression in man coverage against bum secondaries.. the moment they play against a good and disciplined defense that can handle CeeDee, Dak does what he does, which is panics and it’s a chain reaction of ugliness.

Completely different situations. Not anywhere close to the same thing. I mean, light years difference.
Let me take my time and explain what i meant since you only want to bring negativity but send flowers to me in my inbox!!

I was referring to waiting until the last minute to do a deal, then only caving under the pressure, because you know last minute negotiations on this team gets deals done!

Lol @ stare down!! Yup WR gets taken out the game that's it, it's crazy that teams actually GAME PLAN to stop us, we have no plan at all

The FO's ineptitude is driving themselves and their team into a corner they can't extract themselves from. It's no pretty picture!

At this point in time, the upcoming season certainly appears to be one that won't see this team enjoying a pleasant journey to a finish.

Poor negotiating of their contracts and shaky management has finally taken its toll on the Cowboys' organization. Brace yourselves!!!

This whole “draft and develop” philosophy falls apart when you refuse to pay your guys that produce and retain the star players you develop.

This FO cannot get out of it’s own way. This offseason is exposing the depths of their incompetence
I think its all Stephen doing this. Jerry is simply protecting and promoting the brand.

Teams are not winning SB's with the highest paid WR, same at RB and most likely moving forward QB.

CD could easily be traded for 2 firsts and save $30M. That is equal to 3 players at $10M each for a total of 5 starters.
I'd rather one CeeDee Lamb than three Dorance Armstrongs.

I know people get pumped up at 'value' but we need good players to, you know, win football games

Think this isn’t true anymore. Probably something like the AJ Brown trade. Seems team don’t want to give up major draft capital knowing you also have to give a huge contract. I understand the issue with the Prescott negotiation but CeeDee is a top 3 WR and deserves to get paid. It would also serve to Dallas advantage to get it done first, knowing Jefferson and Chase will get more after. In other words the contract won’t set the market for years, unlike Prescotts.

We could have 3 Michael Gallups for 1 CDL.

I mean, CDL is CDL, but 3 Michael Gallups? On the field at the same time???

Honestly, I'm beginning to think after he spoke with Jimmy, he's gonna blow this thing up and go back to 1989 and rebuild the whole team with a star quarterback in place.

Yeah but can you imagine the confusion on a corners face when he’s told to shadow Michael Gallup all game and then on game day there are three of them on the field?

Maybe he really is selling the team. Lol. This offseason makes no sense.
This offseason may make no sense to us, but it's really no different than the last 10. If they extend both Dak and Lamb, It's really no different than any other offseason in recent history. Only Jerry's commentary changes.

So why is team owner Jerry Jones hinting at a question about Lamb's contractual value?

"He's out there and he's more valuable than anybody else," Jones said on Tuesday. "But that valuable, to have to give up four or five players to have him, you have to get that reconciled. That's what I'm trying to say. It's a lot quicker and easier said than done."

"Give up four or five players?'' What? More Jerry ...

"Whoever has CeeDee, and I hope it's us, they're going to use him," Jones said. "You have to. You just have to get that kind of mileage out of him. ...''

"Whoever has CeeDee''? What? Jerry - YOU HAVE HIM!

As a general rule I would trust nothing said by any GM between now and the draft. Its all smoke and all a bunch of nothing.

I think this is much ado about nothing…this is just Jerry being Jerry, making outrageous statements…just to get people talking about the Cowboys.
Jerry is working so very hard to keep the Cowboys relevant; sadly, its relevance in the off-season and off the field, rather than on the field.

I can't remember ever losing this many players and making no attempts to replace them.

Just look at how much older and feeble Jerry looks in this picture compared to the last few years.
