And here's the deal. Jerry has proven that it generally takes him 3-5 seasons to learn anything. So, at present, he is testing Dak and CD and Micah to see if they can carry the team for the bloated salaries they desire. This is Jerry's way of saying: "OK, you want top dollar, then carry us to victories w/ lesser talent around you."

Problem is, he's right, but it's already been proven many many times over, and it's sad that Jerry has to cost us more time/seasons proving it to himself.

These 3 guys want top of the market money. Let's see, that's 60 mil, 30 mil, and 30 mil. That's 120 mil. Yes, I'm estimating. Soooooooo, the salary cap is 250 mil or so. That means that 3 players want around half the available money. Think about that. So, this is Jerry's way of saying: "OK, go prove that you're worth it."

if they believe why shouldn't we?????? Their model of not doing anything, is of the best thing I've ever seen. They have convinced me that this is the way to win, hell we've won 36 games over the last 3 years (they feel the need to keep telling us this), so the proof is in the pudding. Yes we've lost some players, but we have #11 and #4 and other guys coming back off of SEVERE injuries that can really help this team, i'm "excited" about our possibilities. I hope you filter that toilet water you'll be using!!
I liked this post because it was an epic troll post. Your wording was outstanding. "Their model of not doing anything is the best thing I've ever seen" is a classic. It doesn't get any better. Do nothing, win everything. It's absolute genius.

Love his play, but he's another Sean Lee/LVE type, can't stay on the field. His list of medicals from college is extensive. Later rounds only.
Who knows if he makes it into late second round and if he did, would they consider him.

I would really like to "give you my thoughts" on your post(s) but they would ban me for several years!

We spend little, and the teams that have spent largely will have little success, causing them to gloat about themselves and how their way works.

The cowboys would love nothing more than to win the Superbowl this year using this model of team management. If/when we win the big game this year, this will be the way we go forward forever!! Other teams will thank us for this model of team building! Please give your thoughts
I believe the Joneses believe that this is the only real sustainable model of building a successful team (and that winning a Super Bowl could result from that). They have scoffed at teams being "all in" (the real way, not the Jones way) and investing heavily to win now, because if it doesn't work, you are stuck in need of tearig it down and rebuilding. They also can point to 12-5 seasons the last three years as evidence of successful team building.

What they fail to do is acknowledge that their philosophy has not resulted in the team making an NFC Championship, much less a Super Bowl, which is the ultimate goal. When you're a GM that doesn't have to worry about job security, you can keep having that goal each year without being concerned about the consequences of not reaching it.

I do think the Jerry wants to win another Super Bowl (not as sure about Stephen) but he just does not have that impetus (the lack of job security) to force him to pivot from a plan that hasn't worked and quit believing that it will work. They fail to acknowledge the fact that Super Bowl champions use all areas of roster building and even if their "all-in" efforts fail, rebuilding doesn't take as long in the cap era.

I mean who wouldn’t want to win the SB by spending little money and a bunch of cast-offs in free agency and guys on rookie contracts?

I'm not sure about this.......extending MM could be part of the overall big picture/plan. Keep in mind, that MM was the Packers HC during the transition from Bret Favre to Rogers. Let's be honest, they NEED a good experienced QB evaluator if they have to move on from Dak, coz they are not good at it. Besides, I'm not Jerry wanna start over with a new QB AND Head Coach. Remember Jimmy drafted Aikman ( he had his doubts initially), Parcell found Romo, and they luck on Dak. My point is extended MM could be more about how well he coaches this season than pure win/loss record.
Sean Payton found Romo. They were both Eastern Illinois grads and he had to beg the Cowboys to get him when he was still available. Parcells played it safe with his guys in Vinny Testaverde and Drew Bledsoe.

Looking back at it, 13-3 with Dak was one of the worst things to happen for this franchise long term. This began the Jason Garrett of QBs training project.

All older players will be offloaded next season.
Any chance they are hoping to move some players at or near the draft?

Go ahead & start collecting picks to reset the roster & cap.
