What if Dak is the one who is holding up the extension or trade?

I doubt he plays for Dallas ever again.

They don’t want him hurt.

He’s trade bait at the point.

Word is out.
It's interesting and supports this off-season's activity.....we arent doing anything that supports/aids Dak raise his profile in a comfortable offense (hence not retaining Tyron).

There's something that rings true that if you want and are paid elite money, take the responsibility (and that may mean less protection and weapons)....make it uncomfortable and force his hand.

They cant trade him unless dak is talking to them.
They cant talk to him unless he initiates it.
They cant even make offers unless he initiates it.

It isnt up to the jones boys, they cant do anything till dak starts the ball rolling.
And I think he isnt talking to them and isnt going to till TC is here.

I think dak told them to get back to him in august lol.
So nothings happening till then.

You are seriously OVERESTIMATING Dak's talent grade.
Do you think there will be a bidding war for his services after all you've witnessed in 8 seasons of beating up dog teams and him folding like a cheap tent vs real teams??
Amazing simply amazing.........................:omg:
You are underestimating the way the NFL operates. Dallas fan opinions, are not the belief of NFL owners, coaches or players.

I really didnt know that. Im surprised the Jones' havent made this 'front and center', even on a PR perspective "dont blame us, Dak/France wont talk to us".

if his contract is like reading defenses, he will look at the guys in the room and if nobody is smiling he will take off running back and run smack into the wall for a loss of 4 million.

Dak takes the trade or he gets a June 1 cut.

Dak loses 29 million in base.

Cap hit is the same for Dallas.

Jerry wants draft picks.

Likely The only reason Dak hasn’t been cut yet.

It’s over.

A no-trade clause is a stipulation in a contract that allows a player to reject any proposed trade in which they are involved.

Jerry us not going to get screwed like he did with Dak’s contract last time. Dak doesn’t hold any cards after they had to dumb-down the offense for him, because he was throwing too many picks. And then after the Packers game..

We are living in bizarre times when a back-up QB is being viewed as a guy who can dictate whatever terms he wants….

I think Dak would like his chances at FA. I think this notion that he has trade value is silly.. Dak is not rated highly by many teams. His highest value has always been to stat chasers, the Cowboys and our deluded fans.

The biggest risk for Dak is that he is likely going to be playing with a vastly inferior squad this season.. so he may get injury or he will look like the dog turd of a QB that he is.

No way he is even close to the best FA to hit the market.. even though the media will hype it as such.
He didn’t even have the stats until Kellen Moore came and with them came multiple TOs, including fumbles. I don’t think there was a two game stretch where he didn’t committed a single turnover.

They had to dumb-down the offense and tell him to bail early so as to reduce his TOs and make it easier for him, but he still threw 5 picks in his last 5 games, 2 of them in the most important game of the season.

This close I would assume Dak is wanting to hit free agency. The cowboys are doing nothing to add talent around him, why would he not look for the biggest pay day?

I think this marriage is headed for divorce and I don’t see any motivation from either side to try and fix it.
I am all in on that!

Lance's fate hinges on what happens with dak.
If dak leaves in 25 jerry will sign lance, I heard it would be 22 mil.
Jerry would have to start lance, or have a 22 mil backup qb.

If Dak extends then lance will have to go, or dallas has a 22 mil backup qb.

There is no genius at work lol, aside from dak, if he is the one who wont talk to jones.

Jerry doesnt know if he is going to have dak or not, so he put all big deals and others on hold till he finds out if dak
will talk to them.

To save face jerry is making it look like he is playing hardball. But he isnt, dak is.
The Cowboys have to decide whether or not to pick up his 5th year option next month. We know they are not going to pick up his 5th year option. If they do, you know Dak is gone after this season.

No team in this league is paying Lance 22M for a season. None. No chance, and either will the Cowboys. Jerry is known to pay players too much, but only because he believes someone else will. Take that off the table, and he's not that stupid. I'm guessing Lance would probably have to take a deal similar to what Jordon Love did.

There is absolutely no reason for the Cowboys to extend Dak at this time. It's too late. What would be the point in opening up 40M in cap space now? They would look like fools. If they give him a new contract, it will come after this season. It will all hinge on how well the Cowboys do in 2024. And Jerry isn't making it easy.

Maybe Jerry is a George Steinbrenner fan. George used to like his employees to be uncomfortable. That's how you get the best from them. Like training dogs.

We can only dream.
so can he. the list of players, good players who left the cowboys and got their rings is longer than list of players, great players who found success in Dallas.

Dallas is not where you go to win championships. its where you go to make money. if you think Dak leaving is going to somehow lead us to success, then you haven't been paying attention.

I dont think anyone has considered this?
What if he wants to hit FA ? He is close, and all he has to do is turn down any dallas offer, and wait less than 1 year.

March 25 he would be a FA and can negotiate with any team he wants, and pick the offer he likes best.
Could be the cowboys, or any other team.

Any team that wants him will have to pay big, but no draft picks needed like in a trade.

Cleveland, Denver, both gave up numerous picks for QB's and also payed them big, so Dak as a FA would be much
better than trading for a QB.

Dallas fans have turned on dak, so maybe he wants to say goodbye to them?

I think Dak would be smart to do this, play out this season,be careful to not get hurt, then pick a new team or cowboys and get a huge deal.
Jones boys could not do anything about it if he decided to do this.

I think this could be whats happening and jones boys dont want people to know dak has turned them down and wont talk to them lol.
Well, i guess thank you very much and bye bye!

Well, I mean there are 31 other teams in the league, so the probability of a player going to another one of them to win a championship increases just by the numbers.

Besides, no one ever thought "Demarcus Ware is holding us back from winning a championship. We ought to let him go."

This may be the most insane post I’ve ever read on the Internet.
32 year old all pro quarterbacks in their prime never hit free agency. Your hate is so strong that it will probably shock you when he gets the biggest contract in NFL history next summer.
