I've read that he was a highly touted Safety coming out of high school, which was probably more fitting for his weight. Sounds like he might've been more suited for safety than LB against the run. He weighs about 220.
yeah he'll be the next Bell

And you are an expert scout to say this from a 16 second video.
I doubt you were there to see all the work out videos.

Most likely no one is going to look super fast running that type of cone drills. They are not so far apart where you need to get up to full speed.
What looked good was how he made his cuts around the cones to change direction. Yes, possibly could have been a little quicker. But he is still rehabbing.

Payton Wilson ran a 4.43 in the combine. I know he's had some injuries but.............. That's a possibility.
I would love for the Cowboys to pick Payton Wilson. He would help take this LB crew to the next level. Imagine Payton Wilson and DeMarvion Overshown lined up next to each other? Good luck to our opponents!

One thing to remember is Overshown had his ACL in August and Diggs had his in September.

That means they're both nearly five months farther along than our last two ACL returnees, Gallup and Steele, who were clearly not themselves coming back (at least initially). And every player is different. We have no reason to think Overshown won't pick up right where he left off until we have evidence to the contrary.

Dallas doesn't have time to wait for upside. Need players ready to go, as much as possible.

Did Dallas learn nothing from Jaylon, LVE, Gregory and others?

Please, don't draft players with known problems, be that mental or physical....
Payton Wilson just proved he's back by staying healthy all of last year while playing as one of the best LBs in college football.

It always cracks me up when the naysayers watch a short video and start posting about how slow and broken a guy looks.

But...dang...as of this minute...I guess I'm a naysayer.

I freely acknowledge that I haven't played and I don't really know what I'm watching. So, it wouldn't surprise me (or hurt my feelings) to find out that he's much further along than it looks like to me. From the perspective of a admittedly underinformed fan, that wasn't encouraging.

i had this injury these guys are disrespectful and nuts...you guys understand that you need to literally learn how to walk again first? he is taking everything slowly, getting all of his steps and rythym back, he will speed it up when the time is right and the leg isn't as sore...these things take 8 months to get firing again...my nerves did not fire again properly until after 2-3 years, even though I fully returned to sport. If anything I am more athletic, faster and stronger in other parts of my body now due to this rehab - and I am 5 years removed from my ACL repair. My knee does not feel the same but it has zero affect on my physical performance, I am performing better.

in TC that is his opportunity to turn it up a notch, then in contact drills - he will not be the same likely until week 9 of the season where he will tell the media he is starting to feel like himself. This goes with Diggs as well.
Well everybody's different Adrian Peterson came back in six months and was the same guy and let me explain something to you I've also had this ACL replacement surgery in 2018 when I was 48 years old let me tell you something about myself even at 54 years old I'm still snowboarding wakeboarding and surfing those are called extreme sports OK I'll even jump on a dirt bike.. I have an extremely tough job as an HVAC contractor I'm still out in the field helping my guys install stuff walking up ladders grabbing stuff and yanking it into the attic balancing on beams basically...

  • In six months I was basically back riding again and not doing anything big but I was actually cruising around behind the boat making small jumps I went snowboarding and I didn't do anything big but I rode down the hill just fine it didn't hold me back at work at all I was back to work in three months like doing everything no limitations just making sure I wore my knee brace which I still have my sports Don joy knee brace you know like they wear in football I wear it when I do anything crazy...

  • At nine months I was doing absolutely the same stuff that got me hurt big flips behind the boat, I was back bombing the hills on a snowboard, and I never looked back and yes, I still wear that brace just for extra protection you know more mental than anything.

So at 48 years old, my first major injury odf long history of sports like HS football, soccer, baseball, etc etc weekend warrior , I had ACL surgery & my 6 month rehab went great and at nine months just like AP, for reference I'm a white guy, I'm a 54 year old white guy, that does a lot of extreme sports, i came back the same level I was doing it before I got hurt.

so I didn't have to have things not refiring, so I don't know what you're talking about ,yes some people take longer than others but everybody's not going to be Terrence Steele not everybody's going to look like Michael Gallup, which by the way that receiver over there for the Buccaneers who got hurt around the same time as Michael Gallup and came back in the same time frame had a pretty damn good season for the Buccaneers...

there's some of them are going to look like Adrian Peterson.

So I'm not saying that you're inaccurate,

I realized that your knee didn't heal fully for two or three years but I could tell you right now at nine months there was absolutely 0 setbacks for me and Im no professional athlete but I can tell you right now riding behind a boat at 23 miles an hour doing flips on a wakeboard and bombing mountains on a snowboard and I used to actually surfing behind the boat as rehab I was doing that at like 4 or five months post surgery,

you can't tell me that some of us who say it could be OK that Diggs comes back and so does Overshown faster and normal then others that we've seen on our team, it is very possible.

Lol that guy had injury problems in college. Dallas needs to stay away unless he drops to the 3rd round or later

So, what glean from your sports-injury thesis is that you are a white guy.:)

You gotta love the fan base with the looks, I'm glad that we have a lot of people that I even know that think things look uneven or something looks taller or shorter because of angles of pictures somehow they're human levels , human scales, and human radar detectors that live in here..

because you looked at a video he looked slow that's ridiculous come on dude give me something better than that that you think you could see something and know whether it's perfectly level or how fast it's going yeah we call those assumptions, yeah we call those assumptions...

Newsflash you don't know what somebody weighs by looking at them how much weight they lost or if they're actually slower fast or something looks slightly taller or shorter that is something that needs to be done by actual tools you need to actually be there... It's about as ridiculous as saying that mozzy lost 30 lbs I'm telling you right now that's not true but nobody really knows because they don't know what he weighed before but when's the last time you were what stalking him in his bathroom when he stepped on a scale nobody actually has confirmed how much weight he actually lost most young guys come into the NFL and lose a little bit of weight.. Yes he may have lost a little weight but everybody in here exaggerates everything because they think they just know because the things they're allowed to see or from what they hear....

Coffee Rant over lol
I'm not saying it to cloud the situation its just an observation. We'll see when the pads come on so I'm not really worried about it. BTW I always thought Witten looked slow as well and he turned out ok.

No, he weighed 229 (combine) when he was drafted.

He was looking terrific in camp last summer. Clearly the best of anyone from last years draft class. I’m not going to get my hopes up too high with him coming off an ACL. It could take until 2025 for him to return to form if he ever does. He could end up being one of those players who’s always hurt. I’m going to stay cautious.
His injury was in preseason. Very different than a guy coming back from a late-season ACL.

He was penciled in as a depth linebacker at best. We’re not getting back Carl Banks here.

The only difference is he’s had more time to rehab and should be close to a full go for camp. It’s going to take time for him to become confident in his knee. Only time will tell if he returns to the form he showed last summer. It may take until next year for him to get back to form, if he does.

What is it that concerns you about Wilson? He has been dominating on the field and at the combine.
Injury History: The elephant in the room is Wilson's extensive injury history. He's battled hamstring issues, a shoulder injury, and even a torn ACL.

He's also a bit lean at 233 lbs. on a 6-4 frame, for comparison LVE was 6-4 and 255 lbs.

Not saying he's not worth taking a look at but have to be careful....

What injury is a concern after he dominated this season and the combine? Hard to give him a blind eye after this. He is a guy that you would want on your team.
