Glad to hear it Sounds like your family will be OK.

It’s never happened to me, but I’m always hearing stories about people wiping out at animal crossings. Lethal road obstacles.
A nephew of mine once hit a deer while riding a bike. He was out in the middle of nowhere, late at night. He had a broken femur, his leg was next to his head, and his phone was in his pants pocket. In order to get his phone, he had to grab his leg and and pull it down straight.

Tough kid, I gotta say.

todays update is hes feeling bloated, and hurting pretty bad. he said its a chore just to respond to a text. So we been just leaving him alone so he can recover and rest. Last thing he needs is to be bothered. The nurses are already getting him up to walk around some. Which is good. I doubt they let him go home this week. Probably early next week but who knows.

I imagine the bloating is due to swelling from the surgery. The risk of sepsis is probably a bit higher than average, when operating on the intestines, so I agree, they probably won't let him go this week.

It's definitely good that he's walking around!

All things considered, this sounds like a pretty good report.

Glad to hear RJ is doing better. Abdominal surgery is a rough recovery for about a week. Tell your Son we appreciate his service to our Country and we are praying for a speedy recovery.
I will do that. I plan on trying to call him this morning, Thursday. We need to hear his voice.TY

the nurse in charge at the hospital literally just contacted us and said they are moving him to ICU to prep him for surgery again. They found and drained about a liter of fluid off his liver. Going in again to find the source of the leak. Surgery tonight. They feel it is the small intestine.

Hang in there, Brother. They will fix him up. Prayers still going RJ's way.

update, yesterday afternoon I got a call from the Head nurse saying they installed another drain. They found the source of the fluid leakage. It was the small intestine this time. So the second surgery was successful, and he seems to be doing better, no infection so far. He actually called us yesterday and was able to talk about 5 minutes. Just hearing his voice made us feel much better. At this point we just want him home in 1 piece. He has about 10 months left of his 6 year military term, and I can't help but wonder what happens next as far as that goes. My suspicion is they might medically discharge him from service, or at least give him that option. But knowing how stubborn he is,lol I bet he will want none of that. He is 1 tough ombre and he is a very determined young man, always has been. Thats the update guys.

Ty nighttrain. We are trying. The last couple of years have been hard, challenging for me and the family. First the wife becomes disabled, and we lost our vehicle dur to hitting a deer, then the roof gets blown off due to a tornado last june, so I put on a new roof, then I had my major achilles surgery/heel spur surgery, of which I am finally recovered, then my wife gets hurt at work and I am tasked with taking her for treatments constantly, THEN this with our son. Its a helpless feeling when **** seems to run downhill at you. I just gave it all to God, and I pray. I also just keep myself occupied with my gardening, yardwork, and the honey do list. lol Otherwise I would go nuts. This MB helps me too. I come here to unwind and chill. Right now I REALLY need to locate a newer dependable vehicle so I dont have to rent one to drive her to Dallas. When the Van was totaled from the deer, I had to use what little they gave us to survive due to her work injury. We live in the country, so deer are a big issue out here. We just have my old farm truck and my oldest daughters old car which is sketchy. We are grateful for the kids we have and what we do have. But I sure wish things would get a bit easier. God Bless. I will tell RJ .

Keep the faith, Brother. Things will turn around for you. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers to help lift you out of this stretch of misfortune. Once your Son is on the mend, things will be looking up from there.

Now we're talking!!

Honestly, I wouldn't have thought the military would allow him to come back after this...but then, I'm not familiar with their policies.

I'm happy for you, brother!
