His agent taught him that it's easier to sell stats in negotiations. Take that sack or dump off. I can blame the sack on someone else.

We'll keep bluffing them on "he's working hard & getting better every year" when they ask about competing for a championship.
did you ever consider that he is just not an elite QB? that he is as best as he gets? that its not on purpose, that's what he is!?

but nah, you have to try and justify an underlying scheme and plan to scheme...

geez dude.

Statistics like these are why Dak is so polarizing.

The historic choke against Green Bay says it all though.
Handing out interceptions like Halloween candy will lose a playoff game every time- even at home vs. a 7th seed.
Thats probably my main gripe. Daks pendulum swing is epic proportions. And seems to have very specific pattern.

I think it’s the timing of the picks. I mean there is no good time for one but. And like with most QBs if you make a QB throw 50 times a game then you’re asking for it. We need a run game.

Did I ever consider? I'm 100% he's never been an elite QB and have always been certain of that.

But it is on purpose. Yes, part of it is because he lacks the talent and thus doesn't have the confidence to make the tougher throws but I fully believe he tries to protect his stats. Too many times when a play has to be be made, he doesn't even take the chance. Even before the game hangs in the balance, he passes up plays that other NFL QB's routinely make for safer options. With the kind of money that is on the line, is anyone foolish enough to think it wouldn't be on his mind?

show me stats against good teams
Everybody's stats can and are affected by the quality of team they play against. Why would that only apply to Dak?

Before anyone claims otherwise, I'm not saying Dak is the same quality of QB as Rodgers or Brady. He obviously isn't. I'm just saying we should use the same standards when comparing.

I doubt it. as a former athlete, if I tried just to do stats, then everything else would fall apart. its not manageable, specially on a football game. in basketball maybe. so sorry, I don't buy into conspiracy theories.

Nice job! Paints a completely different picture than the OP.
It's always about context. Like the Church of Dak loves to claim that he came 2nd in MVP voting and that he was an MVP favorite. However it fails to actually paint the entire picture that he got one lone vote for MVP and that it was a lopsided affair. When you claim that he came 2nd in MVP voting it paints the picture that it was some close run affair when in reality it wasn't any such thing.

Agree. Statistics (Quantitative data) is useless without the eyeball test (Qualitative Data) and vice versa. But I’m genuinely surprised Dak doesn’t have a higher interception percentage.

I think Dak is so polarizing because of the stark contrast between his good games and bad games. If you go back and watch games from this year he looks like an all pro in some games and other games absolutely horrible. His body language, accuracy, timing, etc is all on point. In the bad games you can tell from the first series that he’s going to blow it. It’s like something gets in his head and shuts the processor down. It’s weird. I feel like the crowd that wants him to stay has reason to believe this based on his good games. The crowd that wants him to go have reason to believe it based on his bad games. Because when he is bad, he’s really bad. Likewise when he is good, he’s really good. It’s maddening.
Statistics are a collection of factual data. They can be manipulated in a deceptive way if someone is unfamiliar with the way they can and cannot be used to indicate a trend.

Qualitative data is a contradiction in terms, really. They are subject to the perception of one's opinion. Much of the "advanced" statistics we see are from individual evaluation. When is a ball catchable? Was the QB really being pressured or was he trying to lure the defense in so he could throw a highly successful screen? How many plays fail because the QB made an error? How many fail simply because it was a poorly designed play by the coach?

Dak is not the problem. It's his contract. It's the poorly planned design of the team and the uneven distribution of the salary cap. A professional GM would have recognized the problem way before it became a detriment to the future of the team.

At the very least, Dak would never have been the single option with the ability to parlay this into an obscene contract. By now, they would have traded a star player they couldn't afford for a bundle of draft picks.

How is it a historic choke when no QB in the history of the NFL playoffs has won when the defense gave up 6 TDs in the first 7 possessions? This means, by your definition, every single QB in the history of the NFL would qualify as a choke artist if presented this situation.
That game was over when it was 27-0. Anything that happened after is irrelevant.

Remove Dak's mistakes, and it's anybody's game at halftime.

Blaming Dak for that playoff loss isn't just wrong, it is taking the easy road rather than a fair evaluation of every other aspect such as other player performances. gameplan, coaching and strategy.

There have been 9 occasions since 2000 where a quarterback threw 3 or more INT's in a playoff game and his team still won.

Tom Brady did this 3 times including the NFC Championship game during the Bucs Super Bowl season. In fact, they were all thrown from late 3rd quarter to 4th quarter. The Buc defense made them irrelevant.

Now, how many Buc fans were screaming about Brady being a choker when he thrown more INT's in a playoff game than Dak ever has 3 times? It was practically forgotten the second after the game was over and the Bucs were heading to the lockerroom.

Well built Super Bowl contending teams can win in a variety of ways, they don't just throw everything on their QB's shoulder. Multiple players from multiple squads take turns being the hero. That's the way it was in both the 70's and 90's.

Sometimes it was the defense that saved the day. Sometimes it was the running game or even special teams.

Where was the rest of the team during that Packer game? Who stepped up and had Dak's back? Who decided that it was his turn to be the difference maker?

This is not a QB issue.

And remove a couple of the the long TD drives the defense gave up and it's anybody's game at halftime.

It doesn't just fall on one side. The offense and defense both have a responsibility to help the team stay in games and win games, and that's especially true when one side has made some mistakes. Neither the offense or defense did that n the 1st half.

No one said it fell on one side. But this horrible play from Dak Prescott has been the consistent theme in the last 3 playoff exits. Every single one of them saw him play horrible, the team gets down and they lose.

And nobody has said Dak has been a peak playoff performer, but we should recognize it's more than just him. This past year the offense at least made some noise & tried to come back in the 2nd half, but the defense never provided any support. The running game also never stepped up to help in the playoff games against SF. Again, I'm not saying Dak didn't need to be better, but not every QB can be Brady or Rodgers, so the whole team has to step up too.
