I saw the Patriots Dynasty series on AppleTV and Brady talked a lot about what he did his first year as a starter to win his teammates over. Maybe Dak was just a better leader? Brady used to go out for drinking contests with his offensive linemen, and even sneak in water so he would win. He went above and beyond to be one of the boys, so that the guys would play for him, and Damien Woody talked about and how Brady won them over Bledsoe. I'm sure something similar happened with Dak. Like @Qcard said, we can't get too caught up in nonsense just because there is a strong faction that wants to get rid of the guy. Doesn't mean he's not a leader or great teammate. They've been saying that stuff since day one. As fans though, we could probaly care less at this point, and just want to see something happen in the Tourney.
Go look up Dak partying with Zeke 2018 in Key West with other players from the team while bar-hopping. Dallas in 2016 was the youngest team in the league.

Romo was basically in re-hab and already established himself as the starter. He had no reason to be worrying about Dak, especially after the Giants and Ravens game, when Dak played a good defense and looked like straight garbage and then the Eagles game without Zeke The offense ran through Zeke and they sat Zeke in the Eagles game, while they gave Dak reps.

Just responding to what you said. You made it sound like partying with his teammates was a bad thing. Brady admitted he purposefully did it so that they felt he was one of the boys. Remember, it's easy for QBs to get on their pedestal with all that money and fame, and teammates to look sideways. They already have a primadona reputation at the position.

Brady did that as a beginner... Brady wasn't doing that as a veteran... And he wasn't doing that while in rehab when Cassell was the QB.

The choice to start Dak was because of the record, otherwise the FO wouldn't have cared about the "pulse" of the lockerroom.

What did Romo have to prove?

He's RIGHT about Romo vs. Dak. Romo got for free what Dak had to earn.

Dak has ALWAYS put in "Peyton Manning hours". Jerry paid Romo and then basically said "hopefully Romo puts in those Peyton Manning hours NOW...".

I rock with you and the other haters but you guys need to put down your pitchforks and come back to facts and reason.
For free? Being an undrafted free agent, multiple training camps just to MAKE THE ROSTER, beat out Parcells' guy in Bledsoe and becoming a multiple Pro Bowler is getting it for free?

Brady was doing that while Bledsoe was in rehab. Dak did it while Romo was in rehab. Just first year starters (not rookies, in Brady's case) who want to show the team they are one of them.

Barry Church stated in his interview with Jesse Holley how it went down. Winning cures all of course, but Garrett would not have made the move without the players blessing.

Why are you posting that crap? It does not prove that Dak is a good QB when the light shines in.
There goes that cognitive dissonance again...

If you don't like the cooking get to the back of the bus Dak Hater :lmao:

As Barry Church said, "I knew it was over when Jason Witten was behind Dak as the starter...."

Not saying it was right or wrong decision, because in his interview Church looks back like the rest of us wondering if Romo would have gone all the way instead of Dak.

But people who won't admit that Dak had the entire locker room behind him are living in fantasy. He may still have it right now, even with all the Playoff chokes. I'm sure all the players feel responsible. I was watching Micah's behavior on his podcast, and you could tell he is exasperated about it when talking with CeeDee trying to figure out what they are doing wrong. It's in their head now, all of them.
We don't agree on much but this is true!!

Dak has also had the superior teams. If you look past the post season record you will realize they are completely different quarterbacks in the post season.

Basically Romo had all his teams leading at half and entering the 4th quarter besides the Vikings game when the entire team sucked in his losses. Also got hit with one of the worst calls in post season history(granted Rodgers had plenty of time to walk down the filed and score). Crayton literally dropped 2 tds and nearly 80+ yards of receiving costing them the game.

Dak on the other hand on his losses the team was down at half and entering the 4th sometimes by multiple scores. Although not much he could do when ran ran all over us for nearly 300 yards combined.

But in the end of the day the cowboys didn't get it done. All points back to the front office

Too bad there are defenses in the NFL... France told them to release a video...
I agree...Todd France saw Trey Lance skinny legs video and asked the Cowboys for $65 per season....

The tweet is a ransom demand

Dak Haters are collateral damage :lmao2:

That was definitely the big reason. They were all young players and they related to Dak. Zeke was best buddies with him and the OL players were also partying with him. Garrett also knew Romo stripped him of play-calling duties. The idiot that is Jerry decided to listen to a bunch of young kids regarding the team. The other point is Dak was on a rookie contract and we know how cheap the Jones are now.
If I told I wanted Romo to start even after the Eagles game would you believe me??

I did....but I am convinced the No.1 reason for Jerry not installing Romo is because they knew the back was shot and Romo couldn't take a regular football tackle.

Dak's leadership and winning was close 2 or 3 reason

Don't forget Jerry's dream that Garrett would turn into gold, so he gave him carte blanche with regards to the offense and play-calling duties.

Garrett was a joke. Parcells was probably laughing at the job Jerry did after he left. He screwed that team.

Shay Shay (what a girly name) needs to stick to his gossipy podcast where he pits brothers against each other and divides people.

This is true but needs context........
Even Romo and Jason Witten admitted you had to keep playing Dak with the roll he was on. But here is the thing, if Romo truly believed he had plenty left in the tank to continue his career, he was a free agent after the Cowboys released him ( couldn't find a trade partner BTW ). He could have signed with another team but he didn't. The point is, Romo's body was done, shot........little or nothing left in the tank and he knew it. So did the rest of the league.......hint no team would trade for him.

I always said Tony Romo was a better QB than rookie Dak Prescott IF/WHEN he is healthy but healthy is the key.
Willing & ready to play a playoff run is different than saying you are ready to change teams & start another phase of your career. I don't know why people confuse the two.
