Will Cooper Rush be cut?

First, all of last off-season, we had no credible alternative except Rush, ourselves. We certainly weren't going to bank on Grier if Dak got injured.

And we didn't acquire TL until days before the season started. Even if one assumes we would have felt great about his talent (big assumption), we could not have felt great about his comprehension of the playbook.

This is a novel circumstance. At this point, TL should know the playbook, and it's at least plausible that the braintrust might feel enough confidence in him that they'd consider letting Rush go.

Regardless of what happens with Dak or Trance, Rush should be extended immediately.

If Dak is gone next year and they want to go rebuild mode and see what they have in Trance, they still need a back up QB.

If Dak gets resigned, Trance should be looking elsewhere for an opportunity to play and we still need a back up QB.

Unless Trance has recognized he is a career backup and willing to play behind Dak.

It would make zero sense to go into next year with an entirely zero QB's on the roster.

No one would give any draft assets for Rush under any circumstance. Most teams carry backups with many more starts and wins than Rush. After being released by the Cowboys he failed to stick with the teams that expressed interest. A guy like Tannehill is out there unsigned. Far more experienced and talented than Rush. A.J. McCarron is another free agent available after the UFL season. Much better than Rush.

Hahaha.....Trance is a complete waste. Good thing Dak has not played in preseason since 2019. Coincidence, that is was the last time Trance played.

What's crazy, rather, is that people think the perception of a given player is limited to his first few years' experience.

Serious question: With Trey Lance and Dak Prescott, will the Cowboys cut/release Cooper Rush as the roster tightens?
They may do it as a favor to him to allow him to find another team who needs a stable backup rather than keeping him as a third string emergency option.

Agree, if TL impresses in preseason. You consider TL the backup to finish a game in that case, and CR the long term solution if Dak had to be out for next week's game or more. But this assumes CR doesn't get dealt. I'm on record that I think it's likely he does.
