I agree. We need him to get the #1 draft pick.lance is for real.

I'm sure you don't, by virtue of that response. If that's the case, they would have done that last offseason when Rush's 4-1 record was a lot more fresh. I don't think anyone will be calling about Rush.
We cut him and not a single team picked him up. I think it’s crazy how people turned that short stretch two years ago into the guy being worth a high draft pickRush is going to get real popular if/when some team's QB1 goes down this July or August. There may be other options, but probably none as appealing. Few other QB2s are proven and at the same time, considered potentially dispensable by their current team.
If it's a team that isn't serious about contending? Probably looking at a 5th round pick in return.
If a contender? 3rd round pick.
You heard it here first. No, really, you already did... I wrote this when we first acquired TL last summer.
This has to be a joke. I mean, slag on the team all you like. Jerry deserves a lot of it. But, this? Come on. You can’t be a serious person and make comments like this.For the same idiotic reasoning that they benched him when Dak came back from injury;
These Cowboys don't know much about real leadership.
Regardless of what happens with Dak or Trance, Rush should be extended immediately.Rush is going to get real popular if/when some team's QB1 goes down this July or August. A real waste so far.lance is for real.
No one would give any draft assets for Rush under any circumstance. Most teams carry backups with many more starts and wins than Rush. After being released by the Cowboys he failed to stick with the teams that expressed interest. A guy like Tannehill is out there unsigned. Far more experienced and talented than Rush. A.J. McCarron is another free agent available after the UFL season. Much better than Rush.Rush is going to get real popular if/when some team's QB1 goes down this July or August. LOL you said teams would be calling. Who called for Rush last year?I'm sure you don't, by virtue of that response.
But, um, no. That response is not coherent with the situation.
First, all of last off-season, we had no credible alternative except Rush, ourselves. We certainly weren't going to bank on Grier if Dak got injured.
And we didn't acquire TL until days before the season started. Even if one assumes we would have felt great about his talent (big assumption), we could not have felt great about his comprehension of the playbook.
This is a novel circumstance. At this point, TL should know the playbook, and it's at least plausible that the braintrust might feel enough confidence in him that they'd consider letting Rush go.
Hahaha.....Trance is a complete waste. Good thing Dak has not played in preseason since 2019. Coincidence, that is was the last time Trance played.I'm sure you don't, by virtue of that response.

Rush is 5-1 as a starter in McCarthy's system.I'm for Rush, but I don't know that he would do as well in McCarthy's system as he did under Kellen Moore.
For QB1Trance has an opportunity to compete with Rush.
Fully agree......let Cooper go down fighting. Trey Lance is the one that needs to show something. How about let Trey Lance prove something first? Rush at least has shown he can manage games. Lance has shown very little in the NFL.
What's crazy, rather, is that people think the perception of a given player is limited to his first few years' experience. We cut him and not a single team picked him up. I think it’s crazy how people turned that short stretch two years ago into the guy being worth a high draft pick
No, he was in Moore's system.Rush is 5-1 as a starter in McCarthy's system.
He'd have to activated to be on 53 GameDay roster. UnlikelyNo reason for me to think this way other than just suspicion however I get the sense that they might try to utilize Lance with a few packages this year. I could see Dak as the starter, Rush as the backup, and Lance as a 5-10 snap per game RPO situational package type of player.
He should. But something tells me they will waste time with him.Serious question: With Trey Lance and Dak Prescott, will the Cowboys cut/release Cooper Rush as the roster tightens?
They may do it as a favor to him to allow him to find another team who needs a stable backup rather than keeping him as a third string emergency option.
Agree, if TL impresses in preseason. You consider TL the backup to finish a game in that case, and CR the long term solution if Dak had to be out for next week's game or more. But this assumes CR doesn't get dealt. I'm on record that I think it's likely he does.No reason for me to think this way other than just suspicion however I get the sense that they might try to utilize Lance with a few packages this year.
