Serious question: With Trey Lance and Dak Prescott, will the Cowboys cut/release Cooper Rush as the roster tightens?
They may do it as a favor to him to allow him to find another team who needs a stable backup rather than keeping him as a third string emergency option.
It's a good question and would be stupid if they just let Coop leave for nothing.
Cooper will be signed by another team asap if he was free.

Why would you cut a fairly cheap experienced backup QB that has proven he can win you games. He is 5-1 as a Starter afterall.

Hes not gonna win you a Superbowl, but neither is Dak. He can still grind out Wins if he doesnt have to beat teams with his Arm all game long

Rush has been our backup QB the past few seasons and has won some games for us. He’ll compete with Lance this summer. Lance needs competition.

....doubt it. When Rush's number has been called, he's answered.

Lance, is still to be tested. I do see him playing lots in pre season.

Then how come SF traded him after only 2 seasons and no one offered more than a 5th round pick for him but the Cowboys? He was a bust!
SF traded him because of injuries, he was injured 2 out of the 3 years he was a 9er. so they moved on, and it's still to early to label him a bust!

I’m convinced some fans that post here don’t want to be taken seriously. They post to get reactions and laughs.

I thought Purdy was injured and it was a much more serious injury.

Rush is not a good QB, he just highlighted that we have a roster capable of winning with average, smart QB play. He's not likely going to be here past training camp is my thought on it.

Purdy was injured in the playoff loss to the Eagles, Purdy returned the following training camp
So Purdy ended the year late in the season with a much more serious injury than the one Trance had.

To the point where the Lynch felt like he needed to add a veteran QB in Sam Darnold on a 1 year $4.5M contract, because he did not believe Trance could take over, if Purdy was not ready.

Even though, people want us to believe Trance had beat out Jimmy G???

So when Trance finds out he is the 3rd QB, then he does not show up to practice the next day and wants to be traded. So he can have an opportunity to start. To only become the emergency QB in Dallas.

How come so many desperate teams that needed a QB, did not want Trance?

After a year, why is a Trance competing with Rush for QB 2?
